I have listened intently to two audio compilations lately, the first is Friendly Fascism, the second Death throes of a Republic. Published in the late 1970s (technically 1980) the first is an unfiltered look into power’s structure and its protectionist undercurrent which might cause the nation’s Oligarchy to desire Fascism in place of true democratic expression; while the second, a serious spawned in the midst of a podcast, was published at this current decade’s onset, is a fascinating look at the waning years of the Roman Republic. Both contributed to my analysis, informing my thinking as I tried to understand what was happening to my beloved country during these debates. The resulting podcast episode looks suspiciously at the bloated democratic field of contenders, accusing the party of staging a slow coup to derail Bernie Sanders’ campaign, a campaign I ponder (in the last section of commentary) may be for nothing, as I am not completely convinced he wants to be president anymore. As always, be prepared for a very interesting ride and try not to get carried away with anger, when listening to Jimmy Dore’s marvelous exchange with Jordan Chariton (of Status Coup), though Mr. Chariton does most of the talking, the information provided is far too important to loose ones emotions over.
