The conference theme this year was 'Class, State and Nation in the twenty-First Century.' Presenter Maria Páez Victor MA, Ph.D. is a VenezuelanâCanadian sociologist, and winner of the Distinguished Achievement Award in Political Economy for the 21st Century. Her talk focuses on the efforts at regime change in Venezuela and corrects much of the media and political disinformation around the plight of the South American country.
