Phil discusses the Trump phenomenon and the eternal Groundhog Day of U.S. politics, and moves on to Canada the "middle power" and Meng Wanzhou. By ordering our obedient government to arrest Meng, Trump sabotaged Canada's multilateral trade policy, hurting our relationship with a rapidly booming economic powerhouse.
We all call Trump a maniac, yet Trudeau obeys him. Had Trudeau challenged Trump, the Democrats would not have been in Trudeau's corner.
There was no censorship of Trump by Facebook or Twitter when Trump brazenly announced on Twitter that he had assassinated war hero General Soleimani on Jan. 3, 2020, while he was on an official mission of peace to Baghdad at the personal invitation of the Iraqi PM.
Trudeau has repeatedly stated he's not happy with Iran's handling of the accidental shooting down of a Ukrainian airliner over Tehran during the near-war that Trump touched-off. 4 of the '5-Eyes' countries issued a statement condemning Iran.
Trudeau, however, did not condemn Trump's assassination of Soleimani. Nor has the media, which echoes Trudeau's every remark. Recall that Michael McCain, CEO of Maple Leaf Foods, was loud in blaming Trump for the disaster, which took the lives of members of the family of one of his employees. McCain correctly pointed out that there wouldn't have been an airline disaster without Trump's illegal assassination of Soleimani.
