HIS GRANDFATHER WAS A SIGNER OF ISRAELS DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND HIS FATHER WAS A TOP COMMANDER IN THE 1967 ARAB ISRAELI WAR, BUT MIKO PELED TURNED HIS BACK ON ZIONISM AFTER HIS NIECES DEATH FROM SUICIDE BOMBERS IN 1997. THE TRAGEDY CHANGED HIS PERSPECTIVE AND, IN THE FOLLOWING YEARS, HE TRAVELED TO THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES TO MEET PALESTINIANS AND ADVOCATE FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE.
LAST MONDAY, MIKO PELED WAS A GUEST AT REVOLUTION BOOKS IN MANHATTAN TO SPEAK ABOUT HIS BOOK "THE GENERALS SON: JOURNEY OF AN ISRAELI IN PALESTINE". WBAI FRED NGUYEN ATTENDED THE EVENT AND HE FILES THIS REPORT:
