A conversation about Operation Pandora and words from Nyki Kish about GVI
Nov. 22, 2015, 1:47 p.m.
Important announcement:
**There will be a vigil commemorating the death of Tamir Rice TODAY in Asheville, 3pm at Carrier Park, on the 1 year anniversary of his death. This 14 year old African American boy was gunned down without consequences to the cops who killed him. People will be meeting at 3pm, at the end of this show at Carrier Park off of Amboy road.. Come and support Black Lives Matter and demand justice. Please spread the word and bring flowers and signs against the death of Black people by Law Enforcement in the U.S.
This week on the show you'll hear an interview that Bursts conducted with a comrade living in Spain regarding Operation Pandora and Operation Pinata, two government initiatives specifically designed to target and incriminate anarchists. In this interview, they get into how these initiatives operate, the real life implications of targeted governmental oppression, security culture and much more! To learn a little more about this topic you can visit http://en.contrainfo.espiv.net and search "Pandora, Pinata, and Beyond".
First though, you'll hear some words from Nyki Kish, incarcerated at Grand Valley Institution for Women in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. This is a segment of a reading of Nyki's 4th recent blog entry concerning persecution of non-cis-heteronormative prisoners at GVI. We announced about this last episode. There's a call-in-campaign ongoing to get the GVI to stop the repression. More information and updates on the Grand Valley Institution for Women and struggles there, check out gviwatch.wordpress.com and join the call-in campaign by dialing 519-894-2011, requesting to speak to the acting warden at GVI and inquiring why they are criminalizing LBTQ2+ prisoners. Or you could fax 519-894-5434 with similar requests. The warden has announced the allowance of a LBTQ2+ group to be formed among prisoners there, but the campaigners suggest continuing to call and fax to see if they follow through and what comes next.
More of Nyki Kish's writing can be found at http://changeandprison.wordpress.com/

We interview with Yasser Abu Jamei of the Gaza Mental Health Program
Nov. 22, 2015, 1:44 p.m.
The Palestinian voice we feature this week is that of Yasser Abu Jamei, director of the Gaza Mental Health Program. He is the successor to Dr. Eyad El Saraj, who until his untimely death was the driving force and voice of the Gaza Mental Health Program, and who was often featured on This Week in Palestine. We spoke with Dr. Abu Jamei in an exclusive interview when he came to Boston on a speaking tour. Gaza, which has suffered many assaults by the Israeli military, is a traumatized population. No one in Gaza can escape the suffering brought on by the constant Israeli barrage, not even Dr. Jamei who in the latest assault named Protective Edge in the summer of 2014 lost 28 members of his family in a single bombing. Yet he and the staff of the Gaza Mental Health Program continue to serve the mental health needs of this traumatized society.

The Bolshevik Revolution and Building the Future
Nov. 22, 2015, 12:41 p.m.
Given the misery and violence that we see around us it is not surprising that many people find it easier to imagine the end of the world and much harder to imagine the realization of a better world, where human needs come first, where human potential is realized, and where human happiness is a reality for all. This week Back in the USSR is also about the October Revolution of 1917 and the Soviet Union, but this time I focus on what it meant for the downtrodden peoples of the Russian Empire who now were able to take control over their own destiny for the first time: peasants became political leaders and generals, factory workers became doctors and scientists, women became engineers, cosmonauts, and aviators. Everywhere people were achieving their potential in life and together were building a better world with their own hands, their own minds, and their own hearts. This is what socialism does. This is what can be achieved (program beings 10 minutes in).

Our conclusions are quite different from those of a British Bankers Association report on the subject. One year after #LuxLeaks exposed some of the cosy tax deals being done between tax authorities and multinational corporations we ask how many more âillegal state aidâ deals might have been done? Plus we have a special focus on the results of the latest Financial Secrecy Index 2015 released this month: we look at the top ten worst offenders and ask what can be done about them.

Workers to Organize Dozens of Events Nationwide and Outside Walton Family Estates to Demonstrate that Walmart Workers and their Families are Going Hungry
Walmart workers and their allies announced plans to fast for $15 and full-time in the 15 days leading up to Black Friday, with fasting and actions planned in
all for the 50 states. OUR Walmart, the worker led organization which has already won significant victories " including a wage increase for 500,000 Walmart workers " will organize outside Walton family estates to draw attention to the income inequality that has become the trademark of the nations largest and most profitable corporate employer. Their message is clear: while Walmart workers can barely put food on the table this Thanksgiving, Walmart continues to thrive as the largest supplier of groceries in the nation and line the pockets of the Walton family with corporate greed. Anything less than $15 and full-time is not enough for Walmart workers.

Claude Lacaille discusses his life-long desire to be a priest and a missionary serving the poor, his work in Haiti, Ecuador and Chile (1965 through 1986), the inspiration and role of Liberation Theology, which began with Vatican the Second and which was censored by Popes John Paul II and Benedict.
Lacaille respects the poor and realizes that we all must work together to achieve justice and equality for the People of the world.
Lacaille praises Pope Francis as a man of wisdom. He refers to Pope Francis' denouncement of the hypocritical powerful who talk of peace but who sell weapons which will be used for war and will create enemies.
Dr Overlord Destructmotron's "Tunes for Annihilation!"
Nov. 20, 2015, 5:08 p.m.
Tonight, someone slips me a mickey--and while I'm unconscious, that eeeeeevil mofo is going to pour his insidious sap right into your cortex! And there is nothing you can do about it--nothing but suck it up like a Yeti and accept it, and let your poor, spasming brain THRASH.
Because Doktor Overlord Destructmotron is in the house tonight, and I am unable to stop the juggernaut of his sonic assault. Take it from me, once your brain starts centrifuging in your skull, those clots of ruptured grey matter fly EVERYWHERE. This is the perfect SubGenius soundtrack for when the flaming hell starts raining down from the skies.

Rev. Susie's Katrina Show ch 16-FINAL CHAPTER "Judgment Day!"
Nov. 20, 2015, 3:53 p.m.
YES! It's the end of the road for this sprawling epic, and the end of the road for our rogue president as all of George W. Bush's chickens come home to roost with deadly results. Justice is a dish best served with extreme prejudice, and this time everyone gets a slice of George's ass! He goes directly from the clutches of his mysterious, sadistic kidnapper Jack into the long, cruel arms of the law, where he is delivered unto the tender mercies of those left to die in the wastes of the Hurricane Katrina Zone. One way or another, the balance is going to get set right. Even the sobbing Aaron Broussard gets in a good, solid punch on the lying sonofabitch.
But George's violent arrest and sensational trial cast light on the darkest intrigues the secretive Bush Family--until it all ultimately explodes in an orgy of retribution, agony, and the most shocking secrets of ALL! The loose ends braid themselves together like a well- knotted noose into an almost coherent narrative--one that wraps itself all up nice and tight, complete with a sublime coda at the end.
DAMN. Trust me on this one. You will SHIT.
Tonight's chapter features some unknown somebody's insanely good mashup of George W. Bush reciting "Sunday Bloody Sunday." I can't tell who did it--someone named rx or rx2008, perhaps, or that's just a guy who posted it on YouTube--but it bears the same fine, obsessive technique demonstrated in the Bush mashup of "Imagine/ Take a Walk on the Wild Side." So I'm not the only one out there doing this. I just do hours and fucking hours of this shit at a whack.
