Guest hosts are invited in to host music, news and talk shows and as per our site: âThis year DIY DJ kicks off our âPass The Micâ celebration, a full week of participatory radio. For âPass The Micâ CKUW hosts invite community members on-air to share their music ideas in a casual, conversational manner.â People of Interest had guests interviewing many of our Mayoral Candidates.
Monday POI had David Brigoli as host and Pass the Mic guest host James Bedome interviewing Paula Havixbeck and Brian Bowman for much of the hour.

Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk, from Arlo Guthrie to Aerosmith. Dickson discusses the recent BBC2 one-hour documentary, Rwanda's Untold Story, which, for the first time presents a host of credible witnesses and commentators challenging the narrative of Kagame the liberator. The interviewees who speak against Kagame have placed themselves in the dangerous "target range" of the US puppet Kagame regime.
Key question is cui bono, who benefited from the shoot down of the plane that killed Rwandan President Habyarimana, the spark which ignited the April 1994 war and massacres in Rwanda. The permanent removal of Habyarimana, the ending the Arusha Accords and the destruction of democracy were necessary for Kagame and the RPF to take power.
The tribunals are political organizations that administer "selective impunity," instead of the needed holistic approach that that evaluates and prosecutes all sides. Selective impunity does not yield justice, nor the grounds for reconciliation.

Phil Conlon discusses a very interesting and radical (going to the root) flash mob that interrupted St. Louis Symphony with Requiem for Michael Brown. The Symphony was to perform Johannes Brahms' requiem. There was no violence, as the protesters were allowed to finish the short demonstration which can be viewed on youtube.
The two Phils discuss Black sports figures, including Joe Lewis, and give an introduction to the BBC2 documentary, Rwanda's Untold Story--which reflects the massacre of Blacks on all sides whose lives should have mattered but did not and never do to the imperialists.
