Public process to comment on Kinder Morgan pipeline onerous and restrictive

Activists say the federal government has changed the process in order to head off a repeat of the hearings into the Northern Gateway pipeline, where 1200 people registering their opposition. This is whatâs behind the lengthy application process and limited window of opportunity to apply. The Wilderness Committee is offering workshops to help as many people as possible through the process. Eoin Madden is climate campaigner with the Wilderness Committee.

SOUTH SUDAN WAR: Tribal Discord or Imperialist Agenda?

In South Sudan, an internal conflict between two factions of the Sudanese Peoples Liberation Army (SPLA/M) has exploded into a war.
Following a period in 2013 when SOUTH SUDAN President Salva Kiir deposed several members of his cabinet, including vice President Riek Machar, violence broke out in Juba on December 15. In the weeks since, each faction has tried to claim territory within the world's newest country.
The international Crisis Group has estimated that the inter-ethnic violence that has resulted has claimed the lives of 10,000 people with over 400,000 internally displaced. Peace talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia have so far failed to resolve he situation although President Omar al Bashir from Sudan in the North and President Zoweri Museveni from Uganda in the South have been openly suppporting the South Sudanese government against the rebels with the US likewise appearing to side with Kiir.
The Global Research News Hour has decided to take a closer look at this situation and what it portends for the wider region.
