Why stage "failed" talks? and What killed Arafat?

This week's edition comes in two parts and is a little longer than our usual 45 minute slot. Part 1 is a talk given by Diana Buttu at the 2010 Conference on the Right of Return: Why every 'failed' negotiation process provides Israel with exactly what it wants. What Buttu said 3 years ago has proven timeless. "Failure" means Israel can continue killing Palestinians and stealing their land with impunity. It might be different if the U.S. acted as bona fide honest broker. Part 2 reports indications from a Swiss report that Arafat didn't die of his own accord but was actually murdered. Person(s) unknown to date apparently spiked his lunch with polonium 210 (Po210). Mysteriously, Arafat fell ill and died quickly after this meal. His exhumed body, and soil touching it, tested 18-36 times background for this rare toxin - nine years later! The half-life of Po210 is 138.376 days, so nine years is 23+ half-lives. Thus it's not unreasonable to conclude that the level of Po210 in Arafat's body when he died was more than 14,000,000 times MORE than what would be found now. Art 180

Art 180 works with Richmond’s youth, ages 8-18, helping them to grow into self-awareness, better their community, and learn expressive skills. Programs for younger children occur mostly in schools or at community centers, through partnerships with organizations like Communities in Schools, the Boys and Girls Club, and Rosmy. A new downtown Arts District site, Atlas, is dedicated to programming for older youths, providing “a place that teens can call their own.” One of these teens, Prekeisha, tells Inspire Indeed that she got involved with Art 180 and the push for a teen specific building (eventually made possible through a grant from Impact 100) because the diversity of expression engaged her positively and gave her a dream to work hard for. Ways to get involved making art range from intensive classes to stopping by during the First Friday Art Walk, and professional artists with a creative skill (as simple as painting or as unique as spoken word or culinary arts) can volunteer to teach a class.
