NYC Municipal Workers Demand Fair Contracts
June 22, 2013, 11:04 a.m.
Recorded Live! City Workers Starved Under Bloomberg Send Message to Mayoral Candidates They Demand Fair Contracts
Thousands of N.Y.C. municipal employees, including health care, education, transit sanitation, communication, and public housing workers - the diverse category of workers who make NYC run, filled City Hall Park demanding new labor contracts. NYC's more than 300,000 employees have spent up to four years working under expired union contracts, without any wage increase to keep pace with inflation, while Mayor Bloomberg contends salary increases, and retroactive pay would blow a massive hole in the city's budget. Meanwhile, Bloomberg's predicted budget deficits each year have actually ended with billions in surpluses, while he continues to give billions in contracts to high-priced consultants and outside contractors, some of whom have been marked by fraud and incompetence. So, now municipal workers demand a new deal from a new Mayor in the new year.

Following the election of President Bill Clinton in 1993, fmr President Bush went to Kuwait to recieve tribute. A purported assassination attempt was heralded by the popular press, and seventeen Iraqi & Kuwaiti citizens were rounded up and tortured into confessions.
The first military exercise Bill Clinton did was to lob cruise missiles into suburban neighborhoods of Baghdad, based upon the specious claim that Iraq was responsible for the assassination attempt.
This episode of Reality Sandwich is prior to the cruise missiles being launched. Host, Paul Kangas, is urging the audience to lobby for the lives of the accused. Needless to say, a couple of weeks later Clinton fired and the patsies condemned. This obeisence to Bush by the incoming President is internationally known.
A history of the Bush family, and the specific crimes of the specific Bush are recited. The JFK assassination is covered.
The final portion covers the recent refusal of the Clinton administration to legalize the use of RU-486. The recent clinical trials showed positive, but the Congress and the pseudo-religious wrenched the legality from the women of the world.

Out of the Woods - Show #168 6-21-13
June 21, 2013, 9:13 p.m.
This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length, but I try to keep them approximately 30 minutes in most cases.
Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk, from Arlo Guthrie to Aerosmith. All of these influences converge on Out of the Woods to bring you a mix which is as much on the edge as it is down home. Folk music with a rock 'n' roll soul

JUNE 19, 2013 - PETER JANNEY INTERVIEW - PART 2
June 21, 2013, 7:26 a.m.
This is the conclusion of the interview with Peter Janney. He talks about how his conclusions are evidence-based and makes the links to the assassinations of RFK, MLK and to 9/11. Then you'll hear the last roughly 15 minutes of Kennedy's American University speech where he calls for world peace - this speech was referenced in the interview and in the book "Mary's Mosaic". As Peter Janney says, we cannot change our country if we don't know our real history.
He has done years of research and presented us with that real history.

Slaying The Monsters of Healthcare
Dr. Berwick studies the management of health-care systems to improve the tradeoff among quality, safety and costs. Dr. Berwick concludes that "Any health-care funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized and humane must, must redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent health care is by definition redistributional."
Donald Berwick, M.D. is a former President and CEO, Institute for Healthcare Improvement and a former Administrator, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Chemicals That Promote Obesity Down the Generations
Diet and exercise are seen as the key factors that cause obesity, but new research suggests that certain chemicals called obesogens contribute to the global weight problem. Bruce Blumberg, professor of developmental and cell biology at the University of California at Irvine tells Steve Curwood that the effects of an obesogenic chemical he studied seem to persist for several generations.

The June 2013 revelations of massive government spying should not really come as a surprise. Snooping, prying, eavesdropping, call it what you want the government is doing it on a scale never before seen. Sophisticated new technologies allow for more intrusions into our private lives [...] And this burgeoning Orwellian apparatus has become a cash cow for corporations such as Booz Allen Hamilton. Comedian Stephen Colbert sarcastically observes, "There are bound to be casualties in the never-ending war on terror and one of them just happens to be the U.S. Constitution."
