WIKILEAKS RELEASES TWO MILLION CABLES -
FULLY INDEXED AND SEARCHABLE ONLINE
WikiLeaks founder JULIAN ASSANGE electronically joined a Monday press conference at Washington's National Press Club to announce a new online indexed database of 1.7 million State Department Cables that he said were previously obscured from public scrutiny by official tactics of "secrecy and complexity."
Joined by WikiLeaks spokesperson KRISTINN HRAFNSSON, Assange revealed how the new database, called the Public Library of US Diplomacy [ wikileaks.org/plusd ], is already making news worldwide.

Steven Starr: Massive Radiation Contamination of Japan with Radioactive Cesium

Steven Starr says: "Long lived radio-nuclides such as Cesium 137 are something new to us as a species. Although they are invisible to our senses they are millions of times more poisonous than most of the common poisons we are familiar with. They emit radiation, invisible forms of matter and energy, that we might compare to fire. It's not a fire that can be scattered of suffocated because it burns at the atomic level, it comes from the disintegration of single atoms".
Starr gives an update as to what people in Japan are facing now and into the future. He explains how Cesium 137 is created in the Nuclear Power Plant and how it disperses and continues to move. How it enters the body, mainly via contaminated food, and bio-accumulates in humans, plants and animals. He refers to studies of the Chernobyl disaster and lists the organs affected and the diseases caused by Cesium 137. He takes issue with regulations that set unacceptably low exposure standards and ignore the added danger from Cesium 137 that lodges inside the body and creates a long active source of exposure.

At times, life sucks harder than a friggin' turbocharged HOOVER, and when living in this hellish PinkWorld becomes the equivalent of soaking your cortex in battery acid after a good brillo'ing, you start to consider embracing the alternative. Life is damned rough on those who feel TOO MUCH, and sometimes all the bullshit, uncertainty and incomprehensible injustice all build up until you just want to make it stopstopSTOP!!!!! I understand this all too fucking well--because I get to that point as often as some bitches have periods, and it's all I can do not to jump off a goddamned skyscraper and get off this fucking merry-go-round ride. Well, I'm soaking in another one of those plunges, but since I lost my identity, I've found that I can't do a fresh show--WHAT THE FUCK CAN I DO FOR THERAPY??? What the hell...so let's all just pile into the hot tub, stick our heads under the water, and steep in this secondhand hot tub of angst, shall we? This show was originally done during one of those times...and let me tell you, after I worked it all out on the air, it felt like the biggest frickin' cigarette I ever had.
With sounds by Frank Sinatra, the bombastic Richard Kiley and his Fickle Finger of Fate, the Happy Fingers Institute (they have NIGHTMARES about this shit!), Tonio K doing the Funky Western Civilization, the Honeymoon Killers, Norman Bates and the Showerheads, the Polystyrene Jass Band pouring Drano in your veins, Jonathan and Darlene Edwards further shattering the Boulevard of Broken Dreams, the Armageddon Experience, crazy xtian preachers who'll make you want to put out your ears with a fucking fork, Tom Lehrer, the Fools, Jonna Gault and her risible "Symphonopop Scene" warbling about "The Pink Life," Screeching Weasel, the Circle Jerks--and take that Quantum Leap with the "Screaming Clocks" sequence from the off-off-OFF-Broadway show "3 GUYS NAKED FROM THE WAIST DOWN" (Scott Bakula's SECRET SHAME!!!)
This show still kills me--I just wish it could *finish* the lousy fucking job.

Interview with Ramona, an anarchist activist in Slovenia and member of the Federation for Anarchist Organizing. She speaks about the uprisings which have been happening in that country since November, 2012 in reaction to widespread political corruption and police surveillance. Among other topics, we touch on the conditions leading up to these ongoing uprisings, a brief history of anarchist organizing in Slovenia, and the upcoming Balkan Anarchist Bookfair, which will take place in Ljubljana this May.
