Yes, January of 2009 was a heady, magical time... The last Bush Regime was getting kicked out of the White House, and thinking mutants the world over were celebrating--but not I, because I was mired hip-deep in the HURRICANE SPECTACULAR story arc with no exit strategy in sight! While I had no idea where it all was going, I knew it wasn't going to end soon...and that I NEEDED that buttwipe George as a viable continuing character. My nuts were in a bind--what's a bimbo to do? So I was faced with a horrifically unsavory task:
--To contrive a means for the leprous President George W. Bush to stay in office for FOUR MORE YEARS!
So yeah, I did it. I managed to pull it off using clips from OF MICE AND MEN and Robert Downey *SENIOR's* inspired '60s classic freakfilm PUTNEY SWOPE to stand in for the new chief exec (sorry, no actual Obama was used for this show--hey, no way am I beginning yet another poli-celebrity fixation, nosiree"Bob"!). The plot sickens as George shows he's learned well the lessons of September 11th--will he be able to find a building to knock over onto his rival before Barry takes the oath?

Union busting is disgusting. NYC's Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1181,
representing school bus drivers, matrons, & mechanics was forced onto picketlines to save its very existence, due to Mayor Bloomberg's insistence on removing Employee Protection Provisions from contract language affecting the 9,000 workers. This change would impact current and future union members, allow companies to low bid contractors due to cheap labor, and put 150,000 children's lives in the hands of inexperienced drivers to navigate the hectic streets of NYC. This is a lose lose situation for union members and our families!

This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length, but I try to keep them approximately 30 minutes in most cases.
Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk, from Arlo Guthrie to Aerosmith. By 1967, Martin Luther King realized he could no longer focus on narrow "civil rights" issues such as housing. He had to oppose larger injustices including rampant militarism, the military-industrial-Congressional complex, and a U.S. foreign policy of eternal war. The U.S. was then waging a major war against Vietnam.
We rebroadcast large portions of MLK's most important speech against U.S. war and militarism--the portions most obviously relevant to U.S. domestic and foreign policies today.
