This is the retool of the show I did in 1997 to mock the Heaven's Gate crew after their ill-advised Nikes/black/pajamas/roll of quarters/ pudding/premature suicide fiasco. When I heard that a San Diego-area saucercult had snuffed it, at first I was shit-scared it was the Unariuns! But instead it was dingbat Marshall Applewhite and his shaven-headed goodtime gang checking out. But imagine my surprise to find this very show of mine was widely excerpted in an anti- Scientology screed that someone posted on YouTube, editing out the parts when I addressed the Heaven's Gate cult by name to make my references to "this two-bit rinky-dink amateur saucercult" appear to have been pointed instead at the Hubbardites! It was a cowardly appropriation of my material--but hell, you know what they say: if the foo shits...!

The Iranian anti-government Mujahideen-E Khalq was removed from the State Department's list of foreign terrorist organizations on Friday (9/28/2012) after paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to prominent former U.S. officials to speak on its behalf. Prominent supporters who received funds from the âcultishâ MEK include Democrats Howard Dean, Ed Rendell, Wesley Clark, Bill Richardson, and Lee Hamilton, as well as Republicans Rudy Giuliani, Fran Townsend, Tom Ridge, Michael Mukasey, and Andrew Card.
The group killed six Americans in Iran in the 1970s and attempted an attack on the Iranian mission to the U.N. in 1992. Robert Baer and Jeremiah Goulka suggest that the MEK may next lobby the U.S. to go to war with Iran.
With Robert Baer, former CIA agent in the Middle East, and Jeremiah Goulka, a former RAND Corporation analyst.
