I'm still wading through Lamar's crap--and the SHOW is due! Well, I'm just gonna have to spread the *joie de morituri* around, seekers-- because I am going to have to replay THE MOST HORRIBLE SHOW I EVER PERPETRATED ON MY LISTENERS.
I have no choice! My hands are tied!
I've gotten quite used to the fact that I usually never hear bupkis about the shows I slave over and cast out into the ether. That's why is sucks its certain way, from the utter lack of feedback. But THAT SHOW--oh, THAT SHOW made an IMPRESSION on the seekers, all right. Long after the fact, people came up to me at DragonCon, their faces curdling as they whined, "That SHOW! That horrible, HORRIBLE SHOW!! WHY did you DO that to us?! *WHYYYY????*"
No one remembers any of the good ones I did--but OHHHhh, THIS one...

BSTF 911 - RWR's WIDE ASS--

As I was saying, it's St Byron Werner's "WIDE ASS(ortment) Show"!
Tonight is an all-music episode of St Byron's Little Rock radio show RURAL WAR ROOM, and this one is a wild sonic jumble of audio styles and genres, from the Aquabats and J.C. Penney's promotional records to pseudo-spy exotica and Shiina Ringo's Japanopop weirdness, this show is a magic carpet ride (as opposed the the forty miles of rough road I usually dish out when it's my turn in the barrel). And this is only part ONE because RWR is a 2-hour block! Yar har.
Because St B is such coolcakes, I even went through this and cleaned up the pops from the vinyl. The Penney's promo and the whacked-out version of "Charade" were the worst offenders--I spent over two hours drawing out the pops on "Charade" until I began to hate it with a vengeance! What a cool song, but what a shitty copy of it, all crispy crackles, fractured peaks, and **BLIPTCHK!** pops in a signature that was hard to search through... And then, irony of ironies, I finally get through the cut, take out the last few pops as the song trails off, and there's Byron talking with his sidekick Donavan Suitt about how he got that crappy, crackly record from ME! OUCH. But then they started waxing my surfboard for a good forty seconds, and it made me twist having to hear it. It was too late to bail--I was so fucking sleepy my eyes were bleeding and my hand ached. I wanted to cut that bit out, but I didn't want to pull another forty seconds out of my butt to make it come up to an hour, so I just opened up the mike and recorded "Lalalalala" over that part so I could live with it.
But Byron got me good--that sonofabitch unwittingly totally blindsided me with that. I not only had to hear it, I had to look at the soundwaves. DAMN. Ninja master.
French Presidential Election 2012 in a Divided Europe

French voters head to the polls May 6th in the final run-off election for President. Socialist Francois Holland is poised for victory over incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy, but whoever wins tomorrow will have to contend with an increasingly polarized French republic.
- The extreme-right National Front won nearly 20 percent of the vote in the first run-off election last month. Right wing parties are making electoral gains all across Europe, dragging traditional parties rightward along with them. Sound familiar?

May Day in New York City Part 1

Arun Gupta, a founding editor of The Indypendent newspaper- reporting from Union Square
May Day began in the U.S. in 1886 as a nationwide general strike, led by
immigrant workers, fighting for the 8 hour work day. While celebrated across the globe, it has been largely ignored in the U.S., until recently, when immigrant workers revived it.
Now, a new chapter in the history of May Day will be written with the involvement of Occupy Wall Street, the organization making history with its public encampments and protests against the global financial community. And, Building Bridges presente! We'll be there for this new chapter in the movement, reporting from May Day events throughout the day, here and from rallies across the country.
We'll spice those events with commentary and analysis on the struggles of the working class in the midst of capitalist crisis and prospects for change, from leading champions of the working class, who build organization and class consciousness.
Occupy with Building Bridges as we acknowledge the blood, sweat and tears of workers, the workers who really create all the wealth and want it back. So, lock arms, unite and fight for the working class, for the 99%.
