Sept. 6, 2023, 1:24 a.m.
Under the roar of American war planes, Toronto unions walk to the CNE for "Labour Day." Meanwhile in Quebec, there are no war planes. There, workers take the day off and wait for the union sponsored parades on May Day, much like the rest of non-imperial world
John Stoehr on the Dangers of Illiberal Politics
Sept. 6, 2023, 12:52 a.m.
If you’ve happened to tune in to MSNBC or CNN on a day when a massive hurricane is not pummeling a coastal region, you might think that the only major news in this country concerns the many legal issues facing a certain former president of the United States. But, according to this week’s guest on Sea Change Radio, John Stoehr, there are plenty of other pressing political issues worth analyzing. First, we examine the recent mass shooting in Jacksonville, Florida, including what it tells us about the white supremacy movement and how the right-wing actually benefits politically from these events. Then, we discuss whether the reversal of Roe v. Wade has placated Republicans or if it has just paved the way for restricting other basic freedoms like contraception. And yes, we still manage to sneak in a few minutes to talk about the upcoming trials of the 45th president.

Defend Eritrean Canadians and their rights
Sept. 5, 2023, 2:53 a.m.
Eritrean-Canadians defend their community and the rights of all Canadians when menaced by violent attackers. The authorities who enable the self-described "disrupters" by nattering falsely about "clashes" and "eruptions" have been cancelling Eritrean events in Canada: exactly as planned by the so-called 'To the Death' Brigade.
This must be stopped by those who truly believe in equality under the law for everyone. Eritrean-Canadians are leading that fight.

According to international polls, more than 80 percent of Kenyans oppose acceptance for homosexual relations, and more than 90 percent oppose same-sex marriage. There are harsh penalties prescribed by law, insults like "mashoga" are tossed about, and violence - and even death - are serious possibilities. In the US, parents of gays played a major role in societal acceptance. Kenyan mother Mary Mumbi tells the story of how she came to terms with her daughter's sexuality and has come to provide emotional support for other gays, to connect with the gay rights movement, and to speak out to family and associates - even. in church - about accepting and respecting gay people. She says gays were created by God, and that people who insult them may well have closeted gays in their own families.

Social Security is not just a governmental program, it is a deeply engrain need for any community’s survival and longevity. Wait did you understand the implications of that sentence? Social security is a need, which means it is hidden in the ethereal portion invisible to the community; this means as a governmental program Social Security is this ethereal portion made manifest through human intention, will and grit. How important is this revelation? Very much! The structures we call institutions are, metaphysically speaking, supposed to mirror needs created by our spiritual selves; thus enabling the truest portion in our Being (our Soul) to shine through, creating not only a better singular entity but through the mass effect from their success, a better community and a better country. The more this fails to take shape, the more depressed the individual will become, the more repressed the Soul will become and sooner or later the severance from the external world of the two will result in blind wondering of the once promising Being. Keep this in mind as you listen to today’s episode.
Music Used in the opening, Curtis Mayfield’s Think, Brandy’s The Definition and Marvin Gaye’s Inner City Blues
