Duff Conacher from Democracy Watch talks with Stuart about government accountability and the need to draft good legislation that can actually hold MPâs to task, this interview comes on the heels of the latest Bev Oda scandal and other precarious government spending scandals. Duff gives common sense advice on what the average citizen can do.
Option 2
Charles Boylan is a Canadian radio broadcaster and political activist. He is former producer of Wake up with co-op and currently produces and host the program Discussion on CFRO 102.7 Vancouver. He speaks to Stuart about the recent two saw mill tragedies in BC, the conversation covers the issue of safety and what has changed in the lumber industry and what needs to happen to insure worker safety in the future.

Paul Moist is national president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) â Canadaâs largest union with more than 605,000 members. Sylvia speaks to Paul from the CUPE 49th annual convention, the conversation covers a wide range of topics including, austerity, trade agreements, worker unity and vision for the future and the need for global solidarity.

Rebecca Vilkomerson is the executive director of Jewish Voice for Peace. She discusses Jewish-American opposition to the Israeli government's policies of war and occupation. Vilkomerson has over 15 years of experience in community organizing, advocacy, program development and fundraising in the United States and Israel. She has been an active member of JVP since 2002, and lived in Israel with her family from 2006-2009. In 2010, the Forward recognized her as one of the 50 most influential Jewish leaders in the U.S.

An innovative multimedia projects documents the life of a female grizzly bear in Banff National Park. The story of Bear 71's life is told from the bear's perspective and is illustrated by hundred of trail cam images of wildlife in the Rocky Mountains. Filmmaker Leanne Allison is bringing Bear 71 to the DOXA documentary film festival.
Vancouver neighbourhood fights condo development

Long-time residents of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside say new condo owners moving into their neighbourhood don't want them around. A new condo project is being proposed for an area of the Downtown Eastside that has so far been spared from gentrification. Dave Diewert is a long-time housing activist in the Downtown Eastside.
