Highrise tower threatens character of Vancouver neighbourhood

Local residents are concerned about a residential tower of over 240 market-rate condos planned to be constructed in the heart of Mount Pleasant in Vancouver. Vancouver City Council is hearing from speakers through until Monday March 5. Sandeep Johal and Stephen Bohus are with the Residents Association of Mount Pleasant.
Foreign trade zones slated for two B.C. ports

Foreign trade zones have existed in Canada since the 1970s. There's one in Winnipeg and another at Gander International Airport in Newfoundland. Now federal and provincial governments are working to develop two more, one at Deltaport in Ladner and the other at the port of Prince George. Cathy Wilander is head of the Delta-Richmond Chapter of the Council of Canadians. She says the plans for port expansion are threatening the agricultural land base.
Villagers fight back against naval base on Korea's Jeju Island
