Land, money and the British empire - hidden history
June 22, 2011, 6:20 a.m.
Land, money and the British Empire - Hidden history as not taught in British Schools (I'm not sure what is taught abroad) chatty lecture and wander through 3,500 years of history inspired by the police contributing and even determining policy of UK environmental activist groups and Toyota cars which are so hi-tech they occasionally accelerate up to 150 miles an hour despite the best efforts of their drivers...
Looking at the way land and money have been privatised and monopolised over the centuries to the detriment of humanity and the embarassingly central role that Britain has played in the robbery of the fruits of creation. The Earth is a free gift to mankind and we forget that at our peril. The many stole it from the few - also a look at some of the sneaky mechanisms the elite use to make us all think this is perfectly normal when in fact they have been making fun of us all for centuries

Summer Solstice History
June 21, 2011, 7:37 p.m.
Yesterday, June 21st was the longest day of the year. It is also known as the summer solstice, which literarily means when the sun âsol stands still. This day is still celebrated around the world - most notably in England at Stonehenge, where thousands gather to welcome the sunrise on the Summer Solstice.
Scientifically speaking The summer solstice occurs exactly when the Earth's axial tilt is most inclined towards the sun. Famously, Pagans called the Midsummer moon, or the sol stice moon the "Honey Moon" for the mead made from fermented honey that was part of wedding ceremonies performed at the Summer Solstice.

Flight of Fancy: The Air Travel Dilemma
June 21, 2011, 2:39 p.m.
Airplanes transport over 2.2 billion passengers a year but they are also a significant contributor to climate change, producing approximately 600 million tons of carbon dioxide annually. One transatlantic flight for a family of four creates more CO2 than that family generates domestically in an entire year. And while the benefits of the smaller planet that airline travel has created are immeasurable, can it be justified in light of the potentially life-damaging effects of climate change? And if we canât justify it, are we capable of stopping? George Monbiot writes, "When it comes to flying, there seems to be no connection between intention and action. This is partly because the people who are most concerned about the inhabitants of other countries are often those who have traveled widely.â
This week on Sea Change Radio, the first part of our two-part series on air travel. We speak with two veterans of the airline industry to learn more about what steps airlines are taking to lessen the environmental impact of this revolutionary mode of transportation.
