A Trip to the Dark Side: Conversation with Jeff Sharlet about his new Book, C Street: The Fundamentalist Threat to American Democracy
Oct. 20, 2010, 3:09 p.m.
Jeff Sharlet is the only journalist to have reported from inside the secretive, powerful and super-reactionary christian fundamentalist cabal known as "The Family" and their "C Street" house. Jeff has been writing and reporting on the influence and impact of American Christian fundamentalists, including within the US government and the command structure of the US military. His newest book is, C Street: The Fundamentalist Threat to American Democracy. A follow-up to The Family, C Street shows how the Family operations today - whether inside the halls of government, in the military or in other countries like Uganda - make all previous fundamentalist christian movements pale in comparison. Sharlet's book reveals in stunning detail, the dangerous new frontlines of christian fundamentalism and popular fascism in the world today.
