Black Farmers Speakout for Justice with Alice Walker

Oct. 16, 2010, 3:52 p.m.
It’s been more than a decade since Black farmers filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture, because of decades of discrimination. Thousands of farmers have not yet had their day in court or been allowed to file a claim even though the second phase of the suit (known as Pigford v Vilsack) was settled in February 2010. The reason for this is that Congress has not provided the $1.25 billion for farmers, who through no fault of their own, suffered discrimination from the same government that now denies them relief. PLUS, Alice Walker talks about her parents who were sharecroppers, their struggles and the sacrifices they made for her.

Agent Orange in Canada: The Dioxin Contamination of Canadian Forces Base Gagetown

Oct. 16, 2010, 11:57 a.m.
Kelly Franklin moved to Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Gagetown, a huge Canadian military base located in the Province of New Brunswick, on his first birthday. This was the beginning of an experience with irresponsible chemical use that challenges the imagination of those that hear his story. The Canadian military establishment sprayed staggering quantities of herbicides on this large once forested area so as to be able to conduct division sized military operations. Agent White, Agent Blue, and Agent Orange were all sprayed on the base over a period of many years. The spraying started in the 1950s and continues to this day. Current spraying utilizes Roundup. The residents of CFB Gagetown were not given notice of their exposure to dioxins until 2005. This is an atrocity of great significance. Many people were unknowingly exposed to large quantities of poisons by a government that knew poisons were being used and knew the health damaging effects of exposure to these poisons. The Canadian government harmed these people by using the herbicides and then keeping the exposed people in the dark about the use long after the government knew of scientific information describing the serious damages to health caused by exposure to these substances. If you are interested in becoming more clear minded about the use of chemicals by the US and Canadian military this is a must listen to interview. Kelly asks that anyone with information about the dates at which Dow Chemical Company first became aware of the health damaging effects of dioxin exposure would contact him as soon as possible. He and his fellow CFB Gagetown survivors are trying to hold Dow accountable for the company’s part in this terrible abuse of life and land.

#6 - Created Unequal

Oct. 15, 2010, 10:12 p.m.
The first hour continues our lecture series with Michael Parenti. First, some real history on the Founding Fathers - how they created a Constitution designed to protect the rich while appearing offering sufficient concessions to the poor to secure their support. Then "Justice for Sale", which explains how slanted the US legal process is against blacks and the poor. In the second hour, we focus on the case of longtime inmate of death row, political prisoner, Mumia Abu-Jamal. After the background to his arrest, we listen to some of his commentaries, and play a documentary from Bruderhof Radio.

#521 - Walling Us In and The Illusion of Separation

Oct. 15, 2010, 9:33 p.m.
This week, we continue our series on separation, we look at wall building by governments to keep people separate. Is this, as we are told, to keep ordinary citizens safe from terrorism or drug smugglers? In light of the mound of evidence about false flag terror and CIA-sponsored drug smuggling, it seems rational to look for another explanation. In our second hour, Wendy Brown asks whether it could it be to keep us separate and, symbolically, divided, to symbolically perpetuate the illusion of state power? Our first hour starts with a short clip from George Draffan speaking on the introduction of passports and state use of technology to control people. It finishes with a condensed speech by Jaggi Singh on migration and the growing No One Is Illegal resistance movement.

Oct. 15, 2010, 2:10 p.m.

After a quick look at the roots of the moneychanger trade from ancient times we move forward to the 1800s briefly and then on to the formation of the FED and the depression. Notes that the Russian Bolshevik revolution was financed by the Banksters and that the Skull and Bones Society was set up by a Rothschild representative. #137 -- Corporations (R)

Oct. 15, 2010, 11:07 a.m.
Our nation's Founders encouraged business but distrusted corporations--which they tightly regulated and restricted. Jefferson warned that corporations could end up running the country. (Yep!) In a fine talk, business expert Ted Nace describes the history of corporations, ... their growing power, ... and their frequent battles with The People--some of which The People won. Also reflections by K.D. on the branding of everything and 2 relevant songs.
