Britain will send Depleted Uranium munitions to Ukraine

March 29, 2023, 6:36 a.m.
Britain already has sent the first Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine and the Depleted Uranium munitions are designed to be fired from these tanks. This announcement came just two days after the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Iraq war, where DU ammunitions were used on a large scale. The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament has attacked the UK’s decision. Kate Hudson, its General Secretary, said: “CND has repeatedly called for the UK government to place an immediate moratorium on the use of Depleted Uranium…” DU munitions were used by the US and Britain in the Gulf war in 1991 and in Iraq in 2003. Their use has caused a sharp increase in the incidence rates of some cancers, such as breast cancer and lymphoma. Depleted Uranium also been implicated in a rise in birth defects in areas adjacent to the main battlefields. Other health problems associated with DU include kidney failure, nervous system disorders, lung disease and reproductive problems. Kate Hudson says that the DU pollution will be long-term for many generations to come. It can make agricultural land unsuitable for use. No treaty explicitly banning the use of DU is yet in force, but it is clear that its use runs counter to the basic rules and principles of international humanitarian law. In 2006, the European Parliament called for the introduction of a total ban, classifying the use of DU, along with white phosphorus, as inhumane. Since 2007, repeated UN general assembly resolutions have highlighted serious concerns over the use of DU weapons. However four states have consistently prevented the adoption of the resolutions. They are Britain, the US, France and Israel. The first Challenger 2 tanks have already arrived - and with them the fear that Depleted Uranium munitions may get fired soon. The concern is now that the Abrams tanks from the US also might have Depleted Uranium munitions on board.

The role and responsibility of American Jews to confront the established Jewish organizations concerning the apartheid state of Israel and its military occupation of the Palestinian people

March 29, 2023, 2:11 a.m.
This week we critically examine the role and responsibility of American Jews to confront the established Jewish organizations, the Jewish Lobby, and local synagogues concerning the apartheid state of Israel and its military occupation of the Palestinian people. Our Congress and Government officials will not back away from the sickening support they give to Israel until enough of us challenge the chock hold that the Jewish establishment, like AIPAC, and other political pacs have on Congress because of the enormous amount of money they pay into the electoral process. To guide us through this conversation we hear from Dorothy Zellner, a civil rights movement icon, and Phil Weiss, co-founder of the news service Mondoweiss. They both grew in up in Jewish families, and have become leaders in the movement to confront the Jewish establishment and the Zionist movement concerning the occupation of Palestine and the continuing, illegal theft of Palestinian land.

Squid

March 27, 2023, 4:35 a.m.
This time on The Children's Hour, we learn about squid with Skype A Scientist, Dr. Sarah McAnulty. These ubiquitous creatures are the psychedelic acrobats of the ocean. This episode comes with a free Learn-Along guide which meets and cites US National education standards. Our Learn-Along guides further explore our show themes and provide context and visuals. Plus theyre fun! Squid are in the cephalopod family with octopus, cuttlefish, and nautilus. This ancient family of marine invertebrates pre-date trees on Earth, and can be found in all oceans, at all depths. Squid can be bioluminescent, like fireflies and some cave creatures we have learned about on The Children's Hour. The Colossal Squid is the largest of all squid and can eat a whale! They also have bioluminescent eyes that are the size of footballs. We also learn about Skype A Scientist, the organization that provides free scientific experts to any group on any topic. A science communicator, Dr. McAnulty founded Skype A Scientist to increase direct conversations between the scientific community and the public. This episode is mixed with excellent music to further educate about squid!

Episode 2023.10.01. The Political Question answered, Would if (So-and-So) were Black

March 26, 2023, 1:51 a.m.
With Clips from Saturday Night Live Please Donate to keep CWB Alive! Donate to: CashApp $CWBPodcast & Paypal @CWBPodcast 12 Month Goals: 300 at $5 100 at $10 100 at $20 25 at $21+ Them Trumps is a forgotten SNL skit from the Trump years, I laughed heartily when I first watched them and then again everytime I watched them afterwards. How sad the state of comedy is that this brilliant sketch wasn’t utilized more. That said, it was the perfect set-up for a podcast episode asking and answering the question, “would if those who did (this thing) were black”. No description besides this point is required however I will add this episode does not dive deeply into these answers but skims over them to give the listener a basic overview of what most people instinctively know, if so-and-so were black the ends would be violent and bloody. Music Used in the opening, Curtis Mayfield’s Think, Brandy’s The Definition and Marvin Gaye’s Inner City Blues If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact me at vphiamer.adis.ogaarwa@outlook.com Follow me on Facebook @ClassWarBattlefieldPodcast, on Twitter @VphiamerAdisOgaarwa

He was just the entry point I used to speak about some topics that I’ve had jostling around in my brainpan. The topic I am most passionate about is this notion of “Cancel Culture” and what the African Diaspora in America would do if that culture actually existed. I then flash by an often forgotten about Christian concept that is still taught in many Evangelical circles; the idea that Christians must populate the Earth with their kind, a calling many colonizing Europeans took to heart, resulting in an overproduction of their seeds, propping up their minority numbers for about 150 years before their birthrates began to settle back down to where they had been at for decades prior to their impartial endeavors. The second topic I speak about that ignites my passions is, answering the question what is Racism or at least some aspects to it and how is reverse racism different than Racism? Be prepared listener, this episode is fiery and stuffed with information – sorry for the energy inside it, I was feeling the Ancestral flow deeply on this day. WINGS #50-22 Iraq Invasion +20

March 25, 2023, 5:40 p.m.
Yanar Mohammed is co-founder and Chair of the Organization of Women's Freedom in Iraq. Founded in 2003, OWFI provides shelters, schools, jobs, a newspaper and radio programs to help and strengthen women in Iraq and advocate for their rights. Marge May of community radio WERU-FM interviewed Yanar in 2005. On returning to Iraq in 2003 after years in Canada, Yanar was shocked by the massive infrastructure destruction, impunity for murderers of women, and a US-imposed political system that gave power to male leaders of sects and factions and had no room for women's secular issues or representation. For more on OWFI today, visit owfiraq.org.
