So,over the weekend,Hulu added one of my favorite independent movies of the 90's to it's catalog to watch FOR FREE!!!
I've been trying to track this movie down on DVD for the past 10 years to no luck,I don't even think it's ever been released as a DVD,so to find it on HULU was such a treat.
It's the story of the formation and struggles of an atypical,fictional,indi band (Circus Monkey) from that hotbed of indi bands,Raleigh,N.C.
So after watching this "One hit wonder" of a movie from the 90's,this Monday Mornings Breakfast Blend will be chock full of 90's one hit wonders and I'll even throw in a couple of "Circus Monkey" tunes!

Part 2 of our interview with C.J. Hawking & Steven Ashby about their new book Staley: The Fight for a New American Labor Movement: C.J. Hawking is a United Methodist pastor and the executive director of Arise Chicago a faith based worker justice organization. Steven Ashby is an associate clinical professor in the Chicago Labor Education Program in the School of Labor and Employment Relations at the University of Illinois. Both were activists with the Chicago Staley Workers Solidarity Committee back in the early 1990âs. The Staley workers struggle in Decatur Illinois which began roughly in Fall of 1992 and came to a rather lamentable end in 1995, is one of the most important labor struggles in this country in the last 60 years. Unfortunately it has not been given the recognition it deserves over the past 15 years. C.J. & Steven have done their best to correct this historical oversight and have produced one of the most unique and significant works of labor history in recent years. Released last Summer, Staley: The Fight for a New American Labor Movement will not only become, I think, a classic but is essential reading for anyone who wants to better understand why organized labor is so moribund in the United States today and what needs to be done if the movement is to be transformed and workers are to start winning once again. Todayâs program is part 2 of a 2 part program. Part 1 aired 12-21-09.

David Blittersdorf is CEO of Earth Turbines, which manufactures residential wind turbines and solar trackers in Williston and founding CEO of NRG Systems, which makes wind measuring instruments in Hinesburg. He sees an energy future for Vermont where wind and other renewable energy sources provide most of the energy, including fuel for transportation. He also describes how he designed the NRG building to be ultra-efficient for fuel and electricity, for a 7% initial cost premium that he made back in just a few years, and how energy-efficient Denmark was when he went to Copenhagen during the climate talks.
