Episode 2023.04. How the Democrats and Republicans are Handling the Decline of their Institutional Societial Structure

Feb. 3, 2023, 4:25 p.m.
Please Donate to keep CWB Alive! Donate to: CashApp $CWBPodcast & Paypal @CWBPodcast 12 Month Goals: 300 at $5 100 at $10 100 at $20 25 at $21+ This is not an episode about race, though I began the show with a pretty blatantly race-based statement; the episode continues along a well trotted path, societies institutional degradation. In recent years this has been discussed through the simplistically name Societal Collapse, when in reality what is being spoken about is the systemic deterioration of the institutions within a society, institutions both physical and cultural, to say nothing about spiritual institutions nor generational institutions, both very important for the survival and prosperousness of a societies longevity. As always, I run through multiple topics in this episode, as well as some notes on the principles comprising America’s foundation. What I hope you gain from this episode is an understanding of the forces that are working overtime to set in motion institutional change s which will allow them to remain in control of a vastly different society, one where basic needs are commodified to a level unseen in this country for over 100 years. These forces, with their eye to the future of this country, are also preparing to put in place lackies who are different races in order to maintain the appearance of democratic change while still maintaining their oligarchic positions.

Episode 2023.03. Connecting Gun Violence to the Spiritual Residue gained from War

Feb. 3, 2023, 4:22 p.m.
Please Donate to keep CWB Alive! Donate to: CashApp $CWBPodcast & Paypal @CWBPodcast 12 Month Goals: 300 at $5 100 at $10 100 at $20 25 at $21+ Stepping into the metaphysical, this episode draws inspiration from a series of meditations I conducted between 2018 and 2020 wherein I sought to understand the spiritual consequence and toll of war. What I used as a launch point was Dr. King’s assertion that war rips apart the spirit, bother internal and external. I added to King’s statement, Eisenhower’s observation concerning the social cost of war; which was flavored by another King statement about the reflective nature of war – what is evident during war fever in the aggressor country will become acted out during the violated country; or what is evident during the unfathomable horror generated by a modern industrial war machine invading a colonized country will, as history as shown, manifest itself as the same horror being reproduced within the borders of the colonizer. The revelations gained during these meditations form the base for this episode. That base is simply this; when a physical body is destroyed, a sprinkling of soul stays with the destroyer and if that sprinkling is not removed, then sooner or later the destroyer will began to destroy that place where he or she originates from. Or in other words, Violence begets Violence.

Making a Jewish student "uncomfortable" - a classic debate yielding talk but no action

Feb. 3, 2023, 2:48 a.m.
Palestinian resistance to the colonization of their homeland is being discussed on campuses all over the US, creating enormous concern to the Jewish establishment, which is spending large sums of money to counter this growing phenomenon. Today we examine one of those struggles at the University of California’s law school at Berkeley. We present a discussion of their particular campus battle in a debate between Dylan Saba, an attorney with Palestine Legal who represents the Palestinian students at Berkeley, and Ethan Katz, a professor History and Jewish Studies at the University. The discussion is moderated by journalist and college professor Peter Beinart. This was a classic Palestinian Israeli discussion and that is why we played it. It illustrates the basic difference between the pro-Palestinian movement and most Jewish responses to it. The Palestinians are done talking and are building action strategies to oppose a militant military occupation of their land, while pro-Israelis too often just want talk about it, have dialogue, that over the years has gone nowhere because it is talk and not action and makes no impact on Israeli governance. Those days are over for Palestinians. They are building a resistance to a devastating military takeover of their homeland and the response to their direct, nonviolent action is too often that it is unfair and makes some Jewish students "uncomfortable" and "excluded." If a pro-Palestinian speaker comes to campus, the Jewish students want their point of view represented in the program. However, how often does Hillel invite speakers on the Palestinian side to their events? Palestinians have the right to define their programs, their strategies, and their resistance, on their terms without the involvement of their oppressors.

Feb. 2, 2023, 9:36 p.m.
Sonic Café, music there from The Hold Steady, from 2021’s Open Door Policy release. So hey, thanks for dropping by another out of this world episode from that little radio café way out here in the Pacific northwest. I’m your host Scott Clark and this is episode 324. This time the Sonic Café presents a music mix we’ve pulled together from the last 57 years. How about that? Anyway listen for The Breeders, Elvis Costello and the Attractions from 1979, Future Islands, Living Colour, even a tune from the Better Oblivion Community Center. Best name for a band ever. Right? Yeah. Also comedian Nate Bargatze is a married guy now and he stops by to let us know what marriage really feels like. Then just after the bottom of the hour, listen as the amazing Jack White names a big pile of Beatles tunes after hearing just one second from the beginning of each tune. See if you can beat Jack to the name. All that and more, straight ahead, as the Sonic Café learns what marriage really feels like. From 2006 this is Supersonic from Oasis, and we’re the Sonic Café.

Europera 5 is the last and most diminutive of Cages operas " preceded by Europeras 1 & 2 (1984-1987) and Europeras 3 & 4 (1991) " and was instigated by pianist Yvar Mikashoffs desire for a small, more practical and portable, and more easily performed work in the series, which had its premiere in Buffalo at the North American New Musical Festival on April 12, 1991.
