SOA Watch worked with social justice groups 2/15-17/2009 to push the U.S. Congress and the White House to close WHINSEC to change to U.S. Latin America policy. Roots of York University strike

3500 teaching assistants and contract faculty at York University were on strike for over two months before the government ordered them back to work. Dan Crow teaches at Brock University in St.Catherines, Ontario. He talks about the difficulties faced by today's contingent academic workers, a group that make up a surprisingly high proportion of university teachers.
