There are about a quarter of a million homeless people in Canada. Am Johal says that the only way to reduce these numbers is to re-introduce the national housing program that was eliminated 15 years ago. He's organized a hunger strike relay to pressure the government to put money back into social housing.

Jules Tindungan spoke at a recent forum titled "Inaugurating Peace: Obama and the War in Afghanistan". He was sent to Afghanistan on what he believed was a humanitarian mission but found that the reconstruction work that took place was largely to meet the needs of the occupying armies.
