Last year, the provincial government allowed Western Forest Products to remove its private holdings from designated managed forest lands. As soon as those lands were released, the company put a large volume of the coastal land they held up for sale for real estate developments. Water users, environmental activists and forest industry workers are all concerned about what the impact will be on Southern Vancouver Island.
