Oct. 27, 2022, 10:16 p.m.
Sonic Café, Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros there from 2013, welcome to the café, I’m your host Scott Clark. Prior to this gig I was a magnetic zero too. So ahh yeah. This is episode 311 and this time the Sonic Café brings you the humor of Anthony Jeselnik in a thing we’re calling, These Jokes Are Just Wrong. Ahh cause they are. Jeselnik is know for his dark comedic style, which frequently takes amoral stances. The kinda thing we really dig. We’ll present a bunch of his best material in two segments throughout the show. Supporting Jeselnik is an eclectic music mix covering 21 years including Ghost Beach, the late Walter Becker from his 2008 Circus Money release, Pretty Lights, Walk The Moon, The Psychedelic Furs, Shovels & Rope and of course many more. Oh and also a few words from Frank Zappa, from an interview he gave about American culture. Frank’s observations hit more closely to home today than ever before. So grab your headphones and a comfy chair, crank the volume on up to eleven as we bring you These Jokes Are Just Wrong, the comedy of Anthony Jeselnik, from our little radio café way out here in the Pacific Northwest, from the Wasp Star album here’s XTC. Building Bridges: Will SCOTUS Kill Affirmative Action in Higher Ed?

Oct. 27, 2022, 3:44 p.m.
Will SCOTUS Deliver the Final Blow To Kill Affirmation Action in Higher Education: The Case of SFFA v. Harvard As white supremacy and the discrimination it fosters is strengthening SCOTUS is poised to hear a challenge, organized and financed by right winger Edward Blum to Affirmative Action in higher education. Amidst this climate efforts to rectify the disparate treatment of Black and Brown students in admission to institutions of higher learning cannot be viewed as mere niceties, and attacks on efforts to remediate the inequities of discrimination by Affirmative Action are not benign. There are real consequences for equal rights and justice at stake in SFFA v. Harvard if SCOTUS further erodes or strikes down Affirmative Action. The real threat posed to Asian Americans is not Affirmative Action- it is Edward Blums brand of white privilege wrapped in the fallacy of colorblindness.

Europera 5 is the last and most diminutive of Cages operas " preceded by Europeras 1 & 2 (1984-1987) and Europeras 3 & 4 (1991) " and was instigated by pianist Yvar Mikashoffs desire for a small, more practical and portable, and more easily performed work in the series, which had its premiere in Buffalo at the North American New Musical Festival on April 12, 1991.

Episode 487: That is not how to eat a cookie

Oct. 25, 2022, 2:26 p.m.
SUDS Episode – A brewery takeover from Carton Brewing Company, Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Very challenging flight to match up beer descriptions with what’s in the glass. These could be good NJ beers if you call it something else. A cookie, hot sauce, lap dances, and high school football players – what could go wrong? Sounds like very good recruits for Bama. That hazing process might have improved some of these beers.
