We hear from three guests. Stephen Sefton based in Nicaragua brings us his take of the situation from his country’s perspective and on the consequences of Biden’s isolation. We will get the view of journalist and CUBA specialist Arnold August on how Canada has soft-peddled the isolation and imperial domination of the continent. So welcome to another energy packed Sonic Cafe, where we embrace the ever changing and often, crazy existence we call life. I’m your host Scott Clark, and this is episode 292. This time the Sonic Café brings you an eclectic music mix assembled from the last 50 years. Pretty cool huh? We’ll hear from the great Bob Marley, Rise Against, Death Cab For Cutie, Saint Motel and of course many more, including Stay With Me, a classic 1971 rocker from Rod Stewart and the Faces. Also a 1998 interview, where David Bowie thinks artists are dysfunctional, and the very act of creating art is dysfunctional. Speaking of dysfunction, comedian Kyle Kinane gives us insights into his lucrative career in stand up comedy. Ahem. And before we forget, a hearty Sonic Café welcome to our latest sponsor. Mom’s we love ‘em, but they just can’t remember celebrity names. Well, that’s no longer a problem thanks to the new Mom Celebrity Translator. It makes the perfect gift. So all that and more, right now from our little radio café in the Pacific Northwest. Here’s music from the Airborne Toxic Event. We’re the Sonic Café.

The Promise of Psychedelic Therapy

June 15, 2022, 6:32 p.m.
Psychologist and pop culture icon of the 1960s, Timothy Leary, famously instructed San Francisco hippies to take psychedelic drugs in order to "turn on, tune in, and drop out." These days there's a movement in psychology, also centered in Northern California, advancing the use of psychedelics, as well. But the agenda is less about dropping out than about treating serious mental health challenges. This week on Sea Change Radio, we speak to two people about the intriguing new breakthrough that is ketamine therapy. First, we talk to Oli Mittermeier, the CEO and Co-founder of CIT Clinics to get a glimpse of his company’s innovative approach to ketamine treatment for depression, bipolar, and PTSD. Then, we hear from Reuben Steiger, an entrepreneur who found relief from decades of struggling with depression and bipolar through ketamine therapy.
