U.S. promoting Covid lies to cover its own catastrophic failure

June 10, 2021, 5:48 p.m.
The Taylor Report interviews Stephen Gowans once again about the US attempt to cover for its complete bungling of the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting so far in 550,000 preventable deaths, by blaming the Coronavirus on a lab leak in Wuhan, China. Gowans makes reference to a recent article by a Fellow on the Council on Foreign Relations that there will be benefits to the USA if its intel finds reasonable evidence of a Chinese coverup. These benefits are: 1) Precipitate "freefall" in China's relations with the rest of the world 2) raise questions about the suitability of the CCP to govern 3) force China to turn into itself and self-isolate 4) prevent the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 from being held Gowans finds it outrageous that the USA has the nerve to demand an unrestricted investigation into Wuhan lab records, while it would categorically reject any similar Chinese demands for access to the US Detrick Lab, which was shut down earlier due to its own problems. Clearly, after failing to follow the Chinese lead in stopping the transmission of COVID-19, Biden is now trying to deflect criticism by trying to shift blame towards China for the US failure to contain COVID-19.

June 9, 2021, 1:08 p.m.
Sonic Café, bringing the evolution of radio directly to your ears… No Wow, 2005 music there from The Kills, so ahh welcome I’m your host Scott Clark, the guy behind the microphone at our little, ever evolving radio café and this is episode 242. This time the Sonic Café brings you an eclectic, headphone friendly music mix pulled from the last 35 years. Listen for Dire Straits, the Future Loop Foundation, Edie Brickell, Big Data, Gazzara, Breaking Benjamin, Unknown Hinson and of course more. Then about half way through the hour comedian Martha Kelly stops by to tell us about Total Trolley, her sex-capades and how she’s sort of an animal rights activist. She’s low key, and hilarious. Oh and we’ll also hear from Tom Waits, captured from late night TV, Tom shares details about his crusade to free the glutens. All that and probably some other neat stuff in another hour of intelligent, eclectic music, comedy and pop culture, from that little café on the big, blue Pacific coast, that urges you to join Tom Waits in his quest to free the glutens. We’re the Sonic Café.

Suzanne Simard with David Haskell - Finding the Mother Tree

June 8, 2021, 5:53 p.m.
A small bookstore in Point Reyes Station, a coastal town in West Marin, California, was the first to invite Suzanne Simard for a conversation. Three days earlier, on May 4, her book had been published. Finding the Mother Tree, Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest, has already become a best-seller. Suzanne Simard was born in the Monashee Mountains of British Columbia and grew up in an old growth forest. She was educated at the University of British Columbia and Oregon State University; and is now Professor of Forest Ecology in the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Forestry. Over 1,000 people participated on the Zoom book release hosted by David Haskell. He is professor of biology and environmental studies at the University of the South and author of The Forest Unseen and essays, op-eds, and poetry. Point Reyes Books called Suzanne Simard a pioneer of plant communication and intelligence; much like Rachel Carson. Simard, they say, writes in inspiring, and accessible ways, how trees, living side by side for hundreds of years, have evolved; how they perceive one another, learn and adapt their behaviors, recognize neighbors, and remember the past; how they have agency about the future; elicit warnings and mount defenses, cooperate and compete with one another with sophistication. All characteristics ascribed only to human intelligence, traits that are the essence of civil societies. And at the center of it all stand the Mother Trees: the mysterious, powerful forces that connect and sustain the others that surround them. The one hour film of the conversation is posted on Youtube The link can be found on the website of Point Reyes Books. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yRiN876lZw DATE: 2021/05/07

Crystal Kolden: Prepping For Wildfire Season

June 8, 2021, 3:22 p.m.
Yes, there will be millions of collective sighs as the deadliest pandemic in a century begins to abate and a more open summer kicks off. But summer also means the beginning of the wildfire season in the American West – a slew of deadly disasters lying in wait. Last year was the worst fire season in California’s recorded history and drought-like conditions portend another challenging summer. This week on Sea Change Radio, we speak to Professor Crystal Kolden of the University of California Merced, a wildfire expert and former firefighter. We talk about current preparations for impending fires, where she believes resources should be directed, and the ethical dilemma presented by California’s reliance on inmate firefighters.
