Episode 2021.05.00. The Confederatization of America
March 14, 2021, 8:20 p.m.
A broad view is taken in this episode (it was going to be the second part of a two segmented episode, but the first part didnât stand up to its quality). The Confederacy may have lost the American Civil War on the battlefield, but its ideas may have won out. Here I look deeply into that reality.
Episode 2021.04.00. George Floyd, Jan 6 and GameStop, There Is a Connection Between the Three Disconnected Events
March 14, 2021, 8:16 p.m.
Reading through 1984 youâd be hard pressed not to see the revelation hidden in this episode. I recorded this in January 2021, the connective tissure between the three stood out worse than an infected swollen ankle. What occurred within the three incidents couldnât have been more different, but the resulting actions couldnât have been more similar; though I must admit here, rather or not the actions undertaken during the first two will occur for the third is still to be seen. Nonetheless, the cry from the elite surrounding the third event suggests the same actions will be undertaken and put into order following the other two, the future is rather chilling.

Today we focus on Gaza through a webinar sponsored by the Foundation for Middle East Peace. In this forum we examine the situation in the Gaza Strip, including how the Gaza Strip has been isolated from the West Bank and besieged by Israel, the role of Hamas and related Palestinian political dynamics, and the humanitarian situation in light of repeated Israeli military campaigns, more than a decade of blockade, and now COVID19. Our panel includes: Jehad Abusalim from Gaza. He is the Palestine activism education and policy associate at the American Friends Service Committee in Chicago; Tania Hary who is the Executive Director of Gisha â Legal Center for Freedom of Movement, whose goal is to protect the freedom of movement of Palestinians, especially Gaza residents; and Omar Shaban, founder and director of the Gaza-based PalThink for Strategic Studies, an independent think tank with no political affiliation. The panel is moderated by Khaled Elgindy, senior fellow at the Middle East Institute where he also directs the Program on Palestine and Israeli-Palestinian Affairs.

This weekâs radio show explores the history of oil, and its influence over the development of our civilization through the 20th Century. A lot of very slippery slopes, lubricated with oil. In Part 2, we cover the plight of the unhoused â and to pay for providing housing for the unhoused, we suggest the trillions of dollars that have disappeared into the Pentagonâs budget without anyone knowing where all that money went.
Listen responsibly. Itâs time for the Thunderbolt!

Sonic Cafe #229/The Social Network
March 11, 2021, 8:06 a.m.
Sonic Café with the words of Ronnie Butler, Jr. , so how you doing anyway? Iâm Scott Clark, welcome to episode 229. This time the Sonic Café looks at social media, how itâs reshaping our society, and our brains. So put your smart phone down and listen up as internet pioneer and author Jaron Lanier explains how the sophisticated algorithms in your social media apps are subtly changing how we feel, what we think, and where we spend our money. To lighten things up a bit, weâll also present some social media comedic perspectives, listen for Lachlan Patterson, Seth Tippetts and Rachel Feinstein, all wrapped in a social media aware music mix including the Limousines with their tune, Internet Killed the Video Star, plus music from Distrubed, Parquet Courts, Incubus, Sheryl Crow, Thrice and also a tune from Broken Social Scene. Because if youâre going to present a show about the social media youâve just got to include a song from Broken Social Scene. Right? Anyway all that and more as the Sonic Café presents something weâre calling the Social Network, from that little café on the coast that hopes you like us on Facebook. Weâre the Sonic Café.
