Canada is not an innocent actor in Iran. In fact, it has been running a low-level war against independent Iranian governments for decades.
Yves Engler describes Canada's support for U.S. policies of sanctions, theft, and military confrontation with Iran, and overall bad dealing. Despite their rhetorical opposition to Trump, Canada's Liberal government and commentariat largely fall in line with 'the Orange Man' on Iran.

This time the Sonic Café brings you songs about the Sun, the Moon and the Stars. Yes Virginia there is still some truth in advertising. Weâve pulled our eclectic music mix from 42 years with tunes from Weezer, Echo and the Bunnymen, Cream, The Animals, REM and many more. Weâll also check in with Seattle comedian Drew Barth, whoâs always amazed at how the sun takes people by surprise when it makes an occasional appearance in Seattle. Oh and a big Sonic Café welcome to our newest sponsor. Listen for a word from Salivex. Salivex the ultimate cure for dry mouth. Take Salivex and spit again. All that and more as we bring you songs about the Sun, the Moon and the Stars this time from that little café that sits high atop a cliff watching the Sun set on the big blue Pacific, weâre the Sonic Café.

Donald Drumpf Theatre Volume 158 The Trial Begins
Jan. 22, 2020, 10:51 p.m.
An original radio theatre show each week, with most sounds culled from the previous week, about a fictional, theatrical presidency. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. Currently airing on 30 or 40 stations around the world, the network has ordered another 10 episodes, but with impeachment cancellation is possible at any moment. Anyone who would like to work on a production, or have their work air in this timeslot, should contact info@wgxc.org.

Bruce Gagnon: The Ongoing Danger of Militarization of Space
Jan. 21, 2020, 7:19 p.m.
This archival program by TUC Radio about Dangers of the Militarization of Space is designed to follow last weekâs commentary on Donald Trumps launch of the Space Force, the first new US military service in more than 70 years. At several ceremonies on and around December 27, 2019, Trump declared that ânow space is the worldâs new war-fighting domain.â And that the US would seek dominance in space.
This talk was part of a two day symposium on The Dynamics of Nuclear Extinction, organized by antinuclear campaigner Helen Caldicott in 2015.
In 2017 Helen Caldicott edited a book with material from the Symposium, entitled Sleepwalking to Armageddon: The Threat of Nuclear Annihilation. And this talk by Bruce Gagnon is one of the chapters.
Bruce Gagnon is the coordinator of the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space. Thatâs an international organization he co-founded in 1992. They have an over two decades record of education and activism on a rarely covered topic, the Weaponization of Space.
Stop Rwanda and DRC from forced repatriation of Rwandan refugees
Jan. 21, 2020, 5:17 p.m.
Since 1995 there have been thousands of Rwandan refugees, the majority being Hutus, living in Congo as refugees, and recognized as such by the UNHCR. These refugees have been attacked and massacred several times over the years. The latest has taken place in South Kivu where the Rwandan and forces of the Democratic Republic have combined in an attempt to forcibly repatriate the refugees. All this is taking place outside the law and without the involvement of the UN. It must by stopped.
Rwanda's general/president has been given impunity by the US and its allies. Justin Bahunga calls on us to rally to the cause of the Rwandan refugees in Congo.
Bedazzled by Energy Efficiency
Jan. 21, 2020, 5:17 p.m.
Most environmentally minded folks agree that our shopping habits need to be significantly curbed for the good of the planet. And many often turn to the virtues of efficiency as one answer â on the surface, it certainly seems to make sense to strive for more efficient use of resources. But is the goal of efficiency the right one? On the heels of the Christmas shopping season, what better time to revisit our 2018 Sea Change Radio discussion with Kris De Decker. The founder of Low Tech Magazine, De Decker makes a compelling case for the abandonment of efficiency as the barometer for planetary stewardship. He proposes we use the simpler, but perhaps more painful objective of sufficiency and argues that pursuing greener, more efficient methods and technologies is, more often than not, a foolâs errand. De Decker maintains that the human appetite for comfort, growth, and acquisition tends to turn efficiencies into increased consumption, and that the only way to truly fight climate change is for all of us to recognize that enough is, well, enough.
