Dr. Lee Artz Examines US Coup Plot vs. Venezuela
March 27, 2019, 1:17 p.m.
Dr. Artz exposes the hypocrisy of the USG, going back to Obama, who declared Venezuela to be an âextraordinary threat to the world,â and with the mediaâs collaboration. In pretending that it has the best interests of the Venezuelan people in mind, in promoting a US trained stooge, Juan Guiado unbeknownst heretofore to the majority of Venezuelans, as the countryâs president, sending a paltry $20 million in âhumanitarianâ aid in a propaganda move that no international agency would support and that didnât begin to compensate for the billions that US sanctions and stolen assets from its oil sales have cost the country (more to come).
Jeff Blankfort on Trump, Venezuela, Iran, AIPAC
March 27, 2019, 12:52 p.m.
I begin with Trumpâs bromance with Brazilâs Bolsonaro, 55 years after military coup, and then examine long-term US efforts for regime change in Venezuela, as reported by Max Blumenthal, which included plans to shut down countryâs electric grid and role of Juan Guidao as US stooge.
I go on to report on Trumpâs declaration that the Golan Heights are part of Israel and list the favors that Trump has done for Netanyahu and his paymaster, Sheldon Adelson.
I cite in detail and comment extensively a NY Times report that the Pentagon and the US intel agencies oppose all the hostile US moves on Iran that involve Iraq including sanctions on buying Iranian gas and electric power, labeling IRGC and Iraqi militias as terrorists.
I note that like most Americans, all of the Democrat presidential hopefuls ignore this issue, forgetting that Tulsi Gabbard is alone in condemning US foreign policy.
I then advise listeners to watch the speeches of Mike Pence, Steny Hoyer, Nancy Pelosi and Charles Schumer on aipac.org to see how correct Rep. Ilhan Omar was correct in everything she said and to counter the AIPAC view, then to go to YouTube or CSPAN to watch another conference on the Israel Lobby and American Policy, co-sponsored on March 22 by Washington Report and IRmep that received no coverage in the media.
I finish with a report that California AIPAC reps sought out Kamala Harris who had decided not to attend the AIPAC conference to make a tweet indicating her support for Israel which she did.

Terry Gross - Fresh Air
March 26, 2019, 10 p.m.
If you like interview programs perhaps you have listened to Fresh Air, produced in Philadelphia and broadcast regularly many public radio stations. The host is Terry Gross, our guest on this edition of Radio Curious. I wanted to know who she is, and what she does to prepare for and create Fresh Air. When we visited by phone from her home near Philadelphia, I asked her how puts together so many interesting programs so frequently.
The books Terry Gross recommends are âSelf-Consciousness: Memoirs,â by John Updike, and âU and I,â by Nicholson Baker.
The program was originally broadcast: March 7, 1994
Arnie Gundersen - Fukushima at Eight
March 26, 2019, 9:44 p.m.
Michael Welch is host and producer of the Global Research News Hour in Canada. His guest, Arnie Gundersen, holds an MA in nuclear engineering and once worked for the nuclear industry. Gundersen was a licensed reactor operator and managed and coordinated projects at 70 nuclear power plants in the US. However he became increasingly more aware of the high risks while at the same time observing serious safety breaches. He spoke out and became a whistle blower. After 20 years as nuclear engineer and executive, Gundersen was fired from his job in 1990.
He was an expert witness on the Three Mile Island partial melt-down, and on the serious safety risks at the Vermont Yankee and Californiaâs San Onofre reactors. He and his website at Fairewinds Energy Education <www.fairewinds.org/> became well known and respected after the Fukushima accident for his often weekly updated reports.
His non-profit, Fairewinds Energy Education, is an information hub showcasing over 200 videos, numerous podcasts and newsletters on nuclear energy and the entire power production paradigm.
This is an excerpt of a one hour broadcast. The full version includes a conversation with life-long anti nuclear activist Helen Caldicott - and there is a transcript at <https://www.globalresearch.ca/fukushima-at-eight-ongoing-cover-up-of-the-nuclear-hazards-in-japan-and-abroad/5671690>.

Kevin Walker on our Grand Food Bargain
March 26, 2019, 2:09 p.m.
Youâre walking the aisles of your local grocery store, picking out fresh ingredients for dinner â you get to the counter, pay for it, bag it, and youâre off. Pretty simple, right? Well, that little mindless exchange was the product of thousands of years of human development. There was a time, not that long ago, when acquiring what you needed to survive entailed far more individual effort. This week on Sea Change Radio, we speak to Kevin Walker about his new book, The Grand Food Bargain, to learn about the ups and downs of all this food abundance. We take a look back at how we got here, some of the unforeseen outcomes from this grand bargain, and what we ought to do moving forward. You may just take a step back in wonder the next time you go to the store for a loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter.
World of Equals Calls NATO to Account
March 26, 2019, 12:47 p.m.
In March of 1999, NATO, at the behest of President Bill Clinton, unleashed an aerial assault on Serbia under the pretext of "humanitarian intervention." This led to massive destruction and heavy loss of life. The attack violated international law and the UN Charter, and became a precedent for similar attacks on Libya and Syria.
But in some ways it was the end of Russian compliance with Washington's "new world order." Dickson reports on an important conference in Belgrade calling for a "World of Equals."

The long history of Black solidarity with Palestine and its opposition by supposed progressives
March 25, 2019, 8:19 p.m.
"Cries for Intersectionality are at the center of organizing efforts for a host of social movements, the intersection of various liberation movements moving in solidarity against common oppressors. ... The movements for Black liberation and the movement for Palestinian liberation are front and center in this organizing effort. There is long history of these two movements allying together going all the way back to the civil rights era when SNCC publicly identified with the Palestinian liberation movement and subsequently lost almost all financial support from the Jewish community. ..."
That was from an article written by Rod Such and originally published in the Electronic Intifada.
Our feature presentation today is a talk given by Palestinian comedian and author Amer Zahr in the Palestine Center in Washington , DC. Amer Zahr has made quite a name for himself as a comedian who performs, literally, all over the planet. He is well known on US campuses, but also has performed in major theaters throughout the country including the Kennedy Center. In this presentation he also reads from his book âBeing Palestinian Makes Me Smile.â
