Jeff Blankfort on Ilan Omar. Kamala Harris, Nikki Haley
March 13, 2019, 1:40 p.m.
Today, I began with Tom Friedmanâs 2011 comment that Congress was bought and paid for by the Israel Lobby and that Ilhan Omar was saying essentially the same thing but has been subject to unrelenting attacks for telling the truth. I note that the very existence of AIPAC and the fact that half the members of Congress attend its conventions is prima facie of that than go on to quote from a talk Israeli agent Elliot Engel, chair of House Foreign Relations Com, gave to fellow Zionists on election eve, boasting of his support for Israel and also note that thanks to llhan Omarâs actions, the NY Times wrote about pro-Israel âstealthâ PACS and how AIPAC works.
I also point out that the Congressional Black Caucus resisted Pelosi on the fumbled resolution against antisemitism that had been demanded by NY Jewish congress members, Engel, Lowey, and Nadler.
I then play talks by Kamala Harris in 2017 and Nikki Haley last year to AIPAC to give listeners a sample of what they will not hear or see elsewhere unless they go to CSPAN.
I finish with announcement that Netanyahu has taken the JudeoNazi Otzma Yehudit party of Kahanists into his coalition and that AIPAC has, for the first time, invited a settler leader to its March 24-26 annual meeting.

Phantasms of Freedom, Part 6
March 13, 2019, 6:19 a.m.
How well do we know the history of our nation? As for our Founders, what is fact? What is myth? While we have been told we are free, we face an increasing onslaught of laws, edicts, and proclamations governing our lives as American citizens. We have been told that âwe need to get our Constitution back.â Do we truly need to do that?
We are, during every election cycle, given a âchoice.â But is it a real choice? Or a Hobsonâs choice? Were our Founders the godlike, towering figures we were taught? Were they above reproach? Or were they human beings, subject to the same avarice, temptations and lust we all are?
What were their motivations in starting this country? Were they benign in nature, inspired to offer their fellow countrymen âlife, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?â Or were there other instincts at play?
Was the Constitution truly designed to be the bulwark of freedom? Why were the Articles of Confederation jettisoned? Who were the Anti-Federalists? Why did they get such short shrift by history? What was the worth of the Founders? Were they Everymen? Or rich elites?
The answers, when explored from an âunofficialâ vantage point, may surprise you.
Listen along as Eric the Blacksmith discusses American history with Al Aric and Theo. Current events are interspersed. Explore the nooks and crannies of suppressed information as the book âHologram of Libertyâ by Kenneth Royce is reviewed and its bibliography examined.

Jeremy Hance: From Bottleneck to Breakthrough
March 12, 2019, 5:22 p.m.
How do you usually react to the stream of dire warnings about climate change and wildlife extinction? Does it motivate you to do more to make a difference, or does it submerge you into depressed inertia? This week on Sea Change Radio, we speak with environmental journalist Jeremy Hance about his ongoing series for Mongabay which shines an encouraging light on the future of our planet's flora and fauna. Hance outlines the Bottleneck-to-Breakthrough theory and looks at the driving factors that may save our species and others from extinction. Who knew that earth science prognostications could actually serve as an antidote to climate change malaise?

Gilbert, Ronnie, as "Mother Jones" - 'The Most Dangerous Woman in America'
March 12, 2019, 12:27 p.m.
Mary Harris Jones, Mother Jones, was born in 1830. She lived a quiet, non-public life until she was approximately 47 years old and then, for almost the next fifty years, she was a fiery union organizer, strike leader, and fighter for safe and humane working conditions, the eight hour day, and child labor laws. Around the turn of the century, she was called the most dangerous woman in America. Her legacy has lived on in the form of a magazine that bears the name, Mother Jones; and in the form of a one-woman play about her life, produced, acted and written by singer and songwriter Ronnie Gilbert.
Mother Jones recommends any books by Leo Tolstoy. Ronnie Gilbert recommends âHawaii,â by James Mechiner.

Freeland Echoed False Story Against Maduro
March 11, 2019, 8:48 p.m.
Recently returned from Venezuela, journalist and lawyer Dimitri Lascaris explains just how badly we have been misled about the crisis there. Maduro supporters did not burn aid, and that story was debunked more than a week ago. The government also did not suddenly close a border with Colombia, as was erroneously reported here in Canada. That border was closed well before the crisis.
Lascaris also discusses the deeply debilitating effects of U.S. sanctions on Venezuela, a country which depends on oil exports for survival. It appears as if the U.S. objective is to cause enormous suffering among the most vulnerable, placing pressure on Venezuela's institutions. U.S. offers of 'humanitarian aid' are very deceptive in this context.
Finally, Lascaris also investigates the maneuverings by the Lima Group to browbeat Latin American leaders into supporting Guaido.

The Ominous Parallels - 6
March 11, 2019, 9:28 a.m.
Summer 1919: "an orgy of anarchy and murder."
The contest in the Weimar Assembly was the debate on the constitution, pitting the romanticist, nationalist groups, along with the transitional party of independent socialists who sought a proletarian dictatorship, versus the groups widely identified as the exponents of reason. These exponents were a coalition of half-hearted Marxists, dogmatic Catholics and quaking skeptics.
Owing to other factors, the [opposing] groups may proliferate and may contend fiercely over variants, applications and strategy, but they do not contend over essentials. In such a case, the country is offered an abundance of choices among equivalents competing to push it to the same final outcome.

#575 -- Capitalism vs. Reality, Part 1 (R)
March 10, 2019, 11:35 a.m.
In this recent-classic talk, political scientist MICHAEL PARENTI refutes the claim that the "free enterprise" system (capitalism) promotes democracy. Drawing on historical examples--from ancient Greece to the Constitutional Convention to the present day--Parenti shows how the capitalists fought democracy every step of the way--and continue to do so. Rather, democracy emerged, in fits and starts, from the struggles of average people to bring practical improvements to their lives.
