Cato, Letter No. 4

Jan. 16, 2019, 10:37 a.m.
In Letter No. 4, Cato looks far over the horizon. He expresses his concern that not only is the term of the President excessive in length, the position is monarchical in all but name. Cato lists the characteristics that could be possessed by an unscrupulous individual. He points to the partnership between the Vice President and the Senate and urges retrospection. Cato argues, in no uncertain terms, that the President's cabinet will be little more than a collection of willing lackeys and factions, eager to help the Chief Executive carry out his agenda. Cato concludes by warning that the States - and by extension, the People - should be the ultimate authority in the Confederation.

Jan. 15, 2019, 7:18 p.m.
Includes a clip from Noam Chomsky explaining his skepticism of the RussiaGate claims. Ray McGovern served as a CIA analyst for 27 years, from the administration of John F. Kennedy to that of George H. W. Bush. His duties included chairing National Intelligence Estimates and preparing the President’s Daily Brief to Ronald Reagan’s security advisers from 1981 to 1985. After retiring he became a trusted source of information on the falsified intelligence about weapons of mass destruction that was used to bring the US into the disastrous war on Iraq. For over two years McGovern has focused on what came to be dubbed RussiaGate and in part ONE you heard about his assessment of Julian Assange, and the so-called hacking of e-mails of the DNC. He raised questions about the company CrowdStrike that ran the computers of the DNC and why the FBI never investigated the so-called hacks. In this program McGovern presents arguments and evidence for law breaking of senior official in intelligence organizations, the FBI and the Obama era Department of Justice. McGovern states that instead of RussiaGate we ought to be talking about FBIGate. Ray McGovern was recorded on August 4, 2018 at the Common Good Cafe in Seattle, WA.

Your Life is Their Toy - Part 18

Jan. 14, 2019, 11:29 p.m.
Health and life are man's most precious possessions; and anxiety to preserve them is natural. It is not surprising, therefore, that they have been exploited since time immemorial. Every age has had its charlatans, quacks and medicine men. Much in the same measure as social organization has attained its highest pitch in the present era, the exploitation of health and life today has reached its zenith. Never before in history has there arisen such an extensive conspiracy about the problem of public health of entire nations, involving well-organized, opposing political and commercial groups. The consequence of this welter of exploitation is the sacrifice of human comfort, happiness, health and life. --Emanuel Josephson, 1941, "Your Life is Their Toy."
