9/11 Truth 15 Years Later Part Three: Jenna Orkin on EPA Lies and the Legacy of 9/11 Investigator Michael Ruppert

Sept. 23, 2016, 8:18 a.m.
In this, the third of our special series commemorating the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we showcase a feature-length interview with writer and journalist Jenna Orkin. Jenna Orkin is a Resident of New York City and One of the first to question the US Environmental Protection Agency's assertions that the air in Lower Manhattan following the 9/11 attacks was safe to breathe, she went on to co-found the World Trade Center Environmental Organization as well as other Lower Manhattan activist organizations that revealed and testified to the government's lies. Her writing has appeared in Counterpunch as well as Fromthewilderness.com, the newsletter created by 9/11 investigator Michael C Ruppert. Orkin is the author of The Moron's Guide to Global Collapse as well as Scout: A Memoir of Investigative Journalist Michael C. Ruppert, with Against the Dying of the Light. Over the course of the hour, Orkin recounts her experiences on the day of the attacks, describes some of the toxic content in the World Trade Centre debris, and explains how and why the U.S. EPA deliberately misled New Yorkers, particularly first responders, as to the hazardous conditions they were exposed to in the days following the collapses of the towers. Later on, she comments on her close association and friendship with Michael Ruppert. As she does in her 2014 book, Orkin makes an effort to humanize a man seen by many today as a hero and a giant within the 9/11 Truth movement.

Out of the Woods - Show #338 - 10-1-16

Sept. 22, 2016, 5:54 p.m.
This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length. Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk. All of these influences converge on Out of the Woods to bring you a mix which is as much on the edge as it is down home. Folk music with a rock 'n' roll soul

Arctic Amplification, Climate Change, and Global Warming - New Challenges from the Top of the World (ONE of TWO)

Sept. 20, 2016, 8:37 p.m.
NOTE: This program begins with two brief news clips from NBC4 and Thom Hartmann as reminder that a most important but underreported news item for September is the status of the sea ice in the Arctic. With increasing urgency Wadhams is calling attention to the disappearing sea ice of the Arctic. In his most recent book, A Farewell to Ice, he writes: “Our planet has changed color. Today, from space, the top of the world in the northern summer looks blue instead of white. We have created an ocean where there was once an ice sheet.” In a lecture in Milan, Italy, in May 2015, Peter Wadhams explained how the melting of the Arctic affects the rest of the world. He listed seven major areas, among them sea level rise, emission of methane, and extreme weather events that we already experience. Peter Wadhams is the UK's most experienced sea ice scientist. He has made more than 50 expeditions to both polar regions, working from ice camps, icebreakers, and aircraft. He made six submerged voyages to the North Pole on Royal Navy submarines. Wadham's research group in Cambridge has been the only UK group with the capacity to carry out field work on sea ice.
