James Carden on Fear of Clinton's Foreign Policy

Aug. 3, 2016, 1:41 p.m.
Carden points out how Democrats and Establishment Left have diverted attention from DNC efforts to sabotage Sanders to less important question of source of pilfered emails; that Trump is not Putin's puppet; notes that a Hillary presidency would not be continuation of Obama's foreign policy but of Bill Clinton who initiated US 'humanitarian intervention' policy that has been forgotten in wake of GW Bush's disastrous presidency, recounting sovereign countries attacked by Bill; he notes that, supported by leading neocons, Hillary has outdone Obama in warmongering in every area, that she is the most openly hawkish candidate in memory; that Gen. John Allen's convention speech on her behalf was frightening; that Dennis Ross and Andrew Tabler's column in NY Times calling for bombing of Syria in line with Hillary's position of establishing a no-fly zone over Syria; also notes that friendly relations between Putin and Netanyahu understandable given the largest Russian Jewish population in Israel.

John Allen's Dr. Strangelove speech, giving Clinton her warrior props and threatening war on America's enemies; then reads excerpt of actress Margot Kidder's powerful response to Allen and jingoism at convention, her disavowal her US citizenship from CounterPunch; then Blankfort recounts details from Politico of Sanders' surrender and failure to stand up for Nina Turner as his lowest moment; predicts big vote for Libertarian's Johnson and Green's Stein in November.

From Pearl Harbor to Hiroshima, Arjun Makhijani (Part TWO of TWO)

Aug. 2, 2016, 1:24 p.m.
Makhijani asks how it had been possible to exclude almost all military and civilian leaders of the WWII war effort from the Pentagon to the US government, including even the Vice President, and all but a handful of members of Congress, from knowing about and influencing the Manhattan Project. Among the few in charge was the engineer and inventor Vannevar Bush. He was the first presidential science advisor and coordinated around 6,000 scientists working on war technologies. Bush was director of the Office of Scientific Research and Development (OSRD) in the Roosevelt White House, the very organization that initiated the Manhattan Project.  Notes: Makhijani has written books and articles on the nuclear fuel cycle, weapons production, testing, workers' exposure to radiation and nuclear waste. He is President of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research, in Maryland, their web site is http://ieer.org/
