Professor William Gibson describes his 1987 book, which underscores the disastrous results which followed from the US military's enthusiastic embrace of capitalist market ideology, using now all too familiar methods to maximize the army's capacity to "produce" an enemy bodycount. Gibson provides incisive comment into the context and conduct of the Vietnam war.

Trapped in a World of White Sociopolitical Values, Which Way is Up?

TheAngryindian speaks upon the obvious ideological and sociopolitical barriers between the Black Liberation struggle and mainstream White Liberalism and how this conundrum continues to serve as a dividing-line between the two communities. TheAngryindian argues that White Liberals are primarily responsible for the rise of both the neo-Nazi supported Republican Party candidate Donald Trump and the 'Super-predator' racialism of Democratic Party 'choice' Hillary Clinton â chiefly â because when ethnic minorities, Africans in particular, have stood-up against institutional racism in North American society, politically liberal Caucasians and ethnic assimilationists have worked to stifle effective dissent. Essentially, if White Americans were at all serious about combating White racism and xenophobia, the last thing they would be doing is telling the victims of racism to 'Tone it down', or 'Shut up' when confronted with odds no White European would be expected to suffer silently. On this weeks show Host Stuart Richardson interviews Managing Editor of the Black Agenda Report Bruce Dixon, As a rank and file member of the Black Panther Party in 1969-1970, a 1970s rank-and-file union activist in a string of factories, plants and workplaces, a 1980s community organizer in what were then some of the nationâs poorest neighborhoods, to organizing and consulting through the 1990s Dixon has built an impressive record of service in and to the cause of human liberation.
We speak about this moment in US history with rise of Black Lives matter, the recent police shootings and how to gage the recent election cycle with the unappealing choices of Trump or Clinton.

Arjun Makhijani is an extraordinary and rare mix of nuclear scientist, historian and socially engaged philosopher. I'm presenting him every two years because his analysis is embedded in rarely scrutinized facts and remains shockingly timely:
Disarmament is more urgently needed now that nuclear weapons have spread far beyond the original weapons states and there are even voices in Japan today that call for nuclear weapons. And Makhijani shows that we can only find the path back from the abyss if we are clear and honest about how nuclear weapons were invented and first used. And there is much information in this talk that has been shunned or kept secret.
Questions raised in this part are: Why was the US fleet moved from San Diego to Pearl Harbor? Does the Japanese attack have anything to do with the US oil embargo? What were the original goals of the Manhattan Project and why and when were they changed? And who was in charge of this secret program when even the US Vice President or the generals responsible for WWII did not know.
