TB 161104 We're Here to Help

Nov. 4, 2016, 4:08 a.m.
We contemplate right-wingers’ habit of blaming the victim whilst ignoring the crime. We cogitate upon what a living doll Hillary Clinton is. We consider American culture by describing three of our favourite scenes from three of our favourite movies. We meditate upon voter fraud, we dwell upon voter suppression, and reflect upon election fraud. We ruminate on Bill Clinton’s eagerness to help (certain people). And finally — we ponder the Machine’s propensity for burying all of the most important issues under several tons of irrelevant crap. Welcome to the Thunderbolt.

Out of the Woods - Show #344 - 11-12-16

Nov. 3, 2016, 7:41 p.m.
This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length. Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk. All of these influences converge on Out of the Woods to bring you a mix which is as much on the edge as it is down home. Folk music with a rock 'n' roll soul

Louise Arbour's admission that Kagame interfered with the UN court...

Nov. 3, 2016, 9:02 a.m.
The Globe and Mail recently interviewed former chief-prosecutor of the UN International Court for Rwanda. Judge Arbour acknowledged, 22 years after the fact, that President Paul Kagame was able to turn the ICTR on or off, like a switch. She also admitted that from the beginning the procescutors knew that there was credible evidence indicating the decision to assassinate President Habyarimana was taken by Kagame himself. Tiphaine Dickson explains the terrible consequences of the prosecutor’s failure to disclose what they knew about the shooting down of the plane bearing two African Presidents and the decision to proceed while being “hobbled” by Kagame. She also details the overt interference by the US in assisting Kagame in thwarting the UN ICTR.

Jill Stein’s personal commitment to the Dakota Access Pipeline and her call for free tuition, forgiving student debt and demand for a $15-dollar-an-hour minimum wage gives Americans a chance at long last to vote for leaders who put people before profits.
