While Martin Luther King and his adherents held firmly to the principles of non-violence there were many black activists who advocated a more aggressive approach.
Malcolm X was a fiery activist who often used the phrase &amp;quot;by any means necessary&amp;quot; to advocate for more direct forms of  challenging the status quo rather than Martin Luther King&amp;#039;s use of Civil Disobedience. Brutally honest, some would say callous, Malcolm X famously called John F. Kennedy&#226;&#128;&#153;s assassination, the &#226;&#128;&#152;chickens coming home to roost.&#226;&#128;&#153; He chided the famous march on  Washington, calling it the &amp;#039;farce&amp;#039; on Washington
