Since coming to Canada he has obtained a BA in Anthropology and Sociology and currently works as a family counselor. He speaks of the impacts of mining specifically Vancouver Based Gold Corp in the land of his birth Guatemala. May 14-19 was Mining Justice Week in Vancouver and this interview highlights the need for Canadians To take ownership of what Canadian based mining companies are doing in their name both at home and in Latin America. “World-wide, the mining industry must change the way they do business with Indigenous Peoples in their territories.
