The Conservative majority government of Stephen Harper has also cut spending on programs that benefit workers and lower-income Canadians. More cuts are likely coming, possibly to Old Age Security, other income-security program and  public-sector pensions. Julie Guard, professor and coordinator at the Labour Studies Program of the University of Manitoba, talks about strategies to fight attacks on workers and on lower-income Canadians.
