At this time of year, one wants to wish everyone a Happy New Year, but it will not be a happy new year for Palestinians. That was guaranteed when the most right wing Israeli government in history (and that is saying something) was elected and has come into power. There is genuine depression in Palestine because they know that however bad it has been for them in the past, it is now going to be even worse. Under this Israeli administration, that is guaranteed, and we see it already as the killing of Palestinians, along with punitive house demolitions, have dramatically increased in the New Year under this right wing, racist, apartheid government. Our USA government not only condones Israel’s militarized occupation of Palestine, it funds it.
So this week we take a look at the US/Israeli relationship, current policies and what we might expect in the future from the Biden and Netanyahu administrations. We present a forum sponsored by Brooklyn for Peace held a few weeks ago in New York City which featured Sandra Tamira, Palestinian Activist, and Beth Miller, Action Director at Jewish Voice For Peace.
This Week In Palestine (a weekly part of Truth and Justice Radio) is an award-winning three-quarter-hour segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland. It speaks from the point of view of Palestinians and those who care about them. It's a regular part of Truth and Justice Radio, aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming live and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; Truthandjusticeradio.org has a link to This Week In Palestine archives back thru 1-6-2008. (TJR airs occasional Palestine coverage IN ADDITION to that provided by This Week In Palestine.) We hope you'll write to us at tjradio@fastmail.com if you rebroadcast our work, or have questions or comments.
