Kader, a blind, working composer and musician, has applied to immigrate to Canada twice and is awaiting word on his second immigration application after more than a thousand days confined to a room in sanctuary, in a church in Montreal, fearful of deportation to a U.S. unkind to Muslims, let alone blind Muslims, and further deportation from there to an Algeria by now aware of his reluctance to return.
