Probably not. <cue music: Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine> Sources and Quotes from ----------------------- Enter the hitmen: US prepares to turn nasty The Cold War warriors are back in control as the White House considers revoking a ban on CIA assassins, writes Gay Alcorn in Washington. http://www.smh.com.au/news/0109/18/world/world12.html ^.. Sydney Morning Herald Building an Alternative (Non-corporate) Media (12:36) ===================================================== The model is this: liberals and progressives working together to create a new media, one that is for the people and by the people. We can never hope to overthrow the present corporate controlled system unless we work together. Too many of us are doing our own thing. While it might be gratifying to do your own thing, such activity is ultimately meaningless unless we connect with our fellow citizens and enter into a real dialog. While we should always protest the evils of the Empire, we should devote equal and probably more time to doing positive things. We need to be coming up with new ideas, a new set of recommendations for our nation. We need a way to getting these positive ideas out to the population. When the airlines experience a decline in profits, they get emergency assistance from the government, paid for by you and me. What about the 50,000 workers who lost their jobs? Where is their aid package? Why is the corporate brand so much more important than our people? <cue music: Walkin' on the Sun by Smash Mouth> Read "Brand X" Signoff (2:02) ============== <cue music: Wake Up by Rage Against the Machine> That's all for this edition of A Postmodern Journal.
