On Thursday, Feb. 10, United for Justice with Peace, along with Military Families Speak Out and other peace activist organizations sponsored an event entitled, Economic Crisis, Unending War and Rightwing Resurgence The featured speakers were Professor Emeritus and author Noam Chomsky and Phyllis Bennis, the director of the New Internationalism Project at the Institute for Policy Studies The talk was billed as “in conversation” between the 2 keynotes. Noam Chomsky presented first for 10 min. then Phyllis Bennis took her turn at the podium. Part of the purpose for this event was to bring people together and start working on solutions to some of the issues raised in the conversation. Several workshops ensued.
