In 1977 a shoe-shine boy named Emanuel Jaques was brutally raped and murdered in “Toronto the Good”. Writer Anthony De Sa remembers the reaction to the murder in his Portuguese neighbourhood, and uses it as the jumping off point for his debut novel “Kicking The Sky”.
