Script/Transcript for program: Protest at M.I.T. about Saudi Crown Prince Salman & Yemen War

Suggested Lead: There was a protest held this (Friday) afternoon at the main entrance to the M.I.T. campus at 77 Mass. Ave. Demonstrators want the Institute to cancel its invite to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. According to the protesters, he is the architect of the indiscriminate bombing of Yemen and it’s resulting humanitarian crisis. They say this is why M.I.T. should not welcome the Crown Prince here. Chuck Rosina has more: Chant About 40 to 50 people gathered on the M.I.T. campus to raise their concern about the Institute’s close relation with Saudi Arabia. They were quite visible, with signs and banners, and handed out leaflets to all who walked by. Cole Harrison is with Massachusetts Peace Action, one of the sponsoring organizations of this event. The last speaker, Tom Arabia, an M.I.T. employee called on the Institute to live up to it’s desired progressive image. Tom Spk. After the rally about a dozen protesters went up to deliver petitions to M.I.T. President Rafael Reif. M.I.T. campus police did not attempt to stop them.
