Keith Perron
I have work in radio since for more than 15 years now. I started when I was around 18 years old at a small station in Montreal called CKUT. After spending more than 2 years hosting a weekly show called Shortwaves about the world of international broadcasting I then moved to Radio Canada International where I hosted a daily 30min news magazine for the English language service to Asia. From 1991 to 1993 I freelanced for Radio Nederlands and Deutsche Welle. From 1993 to 1996 I was at Radio Havana Cuba as host and producer of the 2 hour broadcast to North America, and the 1 hour to Europe as well as hosting a weekly jazz show on Sundays called A Jazz Place. When I returned to Canada I relocated to Vancouver where I became the producer of the international programs produced by CHMB. After one year I moved to Taiwan and for more than 2 years was flying back and fourth to Hong Kong. Since 2001 I have been in Beijing where I worked for the domestic service of China Radio International, where I acted as the afternoon host 5 days a week from 2 to 5pm. My other duties at CRI were hosting a weekly world music show and also creator/producer and host of China's first ever national jazz program called Jazz Beat in honor of the CBC program of the same name. Since I left CRI in 2005 I have freelanced at Radio 774 and have also done feature stories for RTHK and various other stations in the Asia/Pacific region.
