Josef WÃ¤ges is a Freemason who has studied the Illuminatis original writings from 1770s Germany. The Illuminati order was formed in 1776 shortly after the 1773 Pope Clement XIV final suppression of the Jesuits, which had been brewing for many years. Joe believes the Illuminati only lasted for a few years before being suppressed by the Bavarian authorities and whilst some may have helped foment the 1789 French Revolution, other orders had surpassed the Illuminati by the turn of the century.

David Livingstone, however, believes the Illuminati still exists and is very much alive today as a secret society which infiltrates religion, banking and politics, under within occult secret societies, particularly the high degrees of Freemasonry. He goes so far as to connect these occultists with the long-term plan to establish a Zionist state in the holy land, much like the Knights Templar (1119-1312) attempted in the Medieval Crusades. They want to provoke the mass death seen in the book of Revelation in order to evoke their messiah which Revelation author John the Divine describes as the antichrist.
