IMMIGRATION REFORM AND SEVERAL RELATED LEGISLATIONS AT THE FEDERAL AND STATE LEVELS WILL BE CONSIDERED THIS YEAR BUT THE ISSUES FACED BY IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT GENERALLY WELL KNOWN AND OFTEN MISREPRESENTED. DESPITE MOST NEW JERSEY NEWSPAPERS HAVING DECLINED TO HONOR THEIR PUBLIC RESPONSIBILITY TO ANNOUNCE THE EVENT, ABOUT 400 PACKED INTO THE RUTGERS UNIVERSITY LABOR EDUCATION CENTER IN NEW BRUNSWICK YESTERDAY FOR A DAY LONG CONFERENCE ON HUMAN RIGHTS FOR IMMIGRANTS ORGANIZED BY THE NJ IMMIGRATION POLICY NETWORK.
