Listen to an interview with Shamim Akhtar, and her daughter Sadaf Ali Khan. Both are refugees from Pakistan who were deported to the USA from Montreal, Canada.
Produced for CKUT radio in Montreal by Aaron Lakoff (aaron@resist.ca)
Nine months after they were deported from Canada, I did an interview with Shamim Ahktar and her daughter, Sadaf Ali Khan, in New York City. The Akhtar family was instrumental in organizing their Pakistani community in Montreal against deportations, and inspiring the No One Is Illegal March on Ottawa.

For more info, see www.solidarityacrossborders.org.

In the weeks leading up to the march on Ottawa (June 18-25), Aaron Lakoff will be conducting a series of interviews with directly-affected refugees who will reflect on this historic action.
